This stall always has a very long queue during the lunch hour. Since my colleagues and I were there slightly earlier, we decided to queue for it. Even though we are early, we still had to queue for around 15 minutes before we got our order. I ordered the roast duck and char siew with rice, which costs $4. The roast duck is very very enticing as the skin of the duck is very glossy and the skin is very crispy as well. Normally, I remove the skin for health reasons but for this meal, I ended up eating it together with the duck meat as the layer of fats beneath the skin is not a lot as well. I would say the roast duck is one of the better ones around. The char siew is also tasty and it is quite lean but not tough. Although we had to queue quite long for this, it is worth the wait. continue reading

I'm not sure is this called the ABC market, my loved one happen to search on net that there's a lots of yummy food so we drop by after our work...Sadly most of the stall were closed, surprise that Tiong Bahru Lee Hong Kee Cantonese Roasted still open so we take it a try...The Roasted Char Siew is moist and well-caramelized with a smoky charred crust, and slathered in a complementary stickily sweet sauce offering a very satisfying bite...Those worried about the high calorie content need not suffer pangs of guilt from indulging in this dish the pork is lean, and has a fragrant roasted taste to boot... continue reading

It was a fine Saturday late morning. We decided to go to Tiong Bahru area to look for our lunch. It is a common sight for long queue at the popular cafes or eating places or stalls. At first we wanted to try another famous Hongkong roasted meat shop but the queue was perpetually long and it seemed their food was selling out soon. We changed our target to Tiong Bahru Market. It was still early for the lunch crowd to flow in. We still went for roasted meat and this stall’s long queue has never stopped. We joined in the queue. We ordered roasted pork, char siew and duck for 2 persons to share. The roasted pork skin was really tempting, it was so crispy and addictive, couldn’t stop eating it! Roasted duck was so so. I don’t like they cut the char siew into too thin slices, it lost the texture, taste wise was OK.Portion wise was good enough for 2 persons. We didn’t dip the sauce. Overall, it was fine. continue reading

This stall has one of the longest queues in this food centre. I ordered a plate of char siew and roasted meat rice with another plate of roasted duck rice. They did not serve soup with those plates of rice. My favourite got to be the roasted duck. It has got a nice smoky flavor with a slight crispiness and smoky flavor on the skin. The meat within is still tender with the right level of saltishness. The braised sauce goes well with the rice. continue reading

The food at toing bahru market is indeed cheap, we ordered from this stall. Ordered the roasted duck and pork rice. I have to say it was really worth the wait and queue. The gravy that they topped the rice is so good, I can simply just eat that with the rice plain, it is that good. It is not too sweet nor is it to salty. The duck is very tender and the skin is a little crispy but very flavourful. The roast pork is very fragrant, the meat is a little salty on its own. The skin is crispy and goes well with the sauce. I was really satisfied with the food and the price I am paying for it. continue reading
