Today was quite lucky as not much queue here in the evening.  The stall is quit big and the staffs here are quite friendly.  Have bought their big chicken pau to try and at $1.80 each is quite expensive.  The pau skin is firm and not too dry.  The chicken meat is tender and quite juicy. Inside the pau is quite moist so not that difficult to swallow.

This is my favorite Big chicken pau ($1.50). The bao skin is soft and smooth.. the chicken filling is very tender and juicy. As for their cha siew bao is not bad too, but the cha siew is not juicy enough. Sometimes I would order their fried item like their carrot cake.. The fried carrot cake taste good... As for their siew mai is big but have strong pork taste. I don't really like it.

As usual there is a long queue at this outlet. But with about 5 staffs working, the queue actually moves quite fast. The phoenix puff which costs $0.90 a pop is my favourite from this place. I like meat and egg still juicy inside. One also cannot forget about the various paus from the place too. The all time favourite is the big pau which is meaty and juicy, and best of the meat is not fatty at all. If one want to have something filling, there is Fan Choi which costs $1.80 a packet. There char siew, egg and Chinese sausage on top of rice. Despite being steamed, the rice is still firm and not mushy at all which shows great skill in cooking.

Overall this pau stall offers quite tasty takeaway food.

I have bought some dim sum from the pau shop. The queue is quite long but also quite fast moving. Prices of the items ranges from $0.80 to $1.80.The siew mai ($0.80) looks quite plain, and just tastes full of lean minced meat. The phoenix puff ($0.90) is a deep fried puff with minced meat and hard boiled egg filling, kind of reminds me of a Scotch egg. It is very tasty.

Had always wanted to try the paus from this shop as there’s always a queue (being Singaporean, if there’s a queue, it means good food, right ) Bought a red bean pau ($0.70) late afternoon for tea break and boy was I disappointed… Firstly, the pau wasn’t hot at all (warm at best) even though it was freshly taken out from the giant steamer, lack of quality control perhaps?Next, the pau was rather hard and not the soft fluffy type as I had expected. Bought a red bean pau ($0.70) late afternoon for tea break and boy was I disappointed… Firstly, the pau wasn’t hot at all (warm at best) even though it was freshly taken out from the giant steamer, lack of quality control perhaps?

Next, the pau was rather hard and not the soft fluffy type as I had expected. The only saving grace was the red bean paste which I found was smooth and creamy, unlike the normal pasty type. The pau was also rather small and definitely not worth the price. Even paus sold at 7-11 tasted better and more value for money!

Perhaps I caught them at the wrong time, or perhaps it was really all hype. Nevertheless, I’m still willing to give it another chance and try out their more famous pork filling pau the next time round since it’s just located next to my office building.

Till next time…

Nearly a year since I last went to this branch to get my fix of paus and dim sum items. The char siew pau has already sold out by the time I was there, so I got the egg tarts as well as har gow and siew mais. Of the lot, the siew mai impressed me the most because of its large size and the use of less fatty meat which made the siew mai less greasy to eat. The egg tart was alright. I felt that it would taste better if it is slightly warm though. I didn't try the har gow so I cannot comment on that

Was at Toa Payoh bus interchange and passed by Tiong Bahru Pau and saw a queue inside. Decided to pop in and buy some snacks home. Perhaps I didn't buy the good stuff, i.e. those paus... but I didn't like any of the items that I bought. I bought egg tarts, har gow, siew mai, and some yam pastry. Turned out that nothing was nice. The har gow also did not contain any prawn, but only pork, just like the siew mai. The only different between their har gow and siew mai was the skin. I am not sure if I

Perhaps I really bought the wrong items, and should try out their paus the next time...

Always when I am here during breakfast time, there would be a queue for their paus as well as pastries. I am a fan of their char siew, so normally i will get the char siew sou since it can be left out unlike the char siew pau where the skin will harden if left out. I like the crust as it is not too thick and it is very crispy. The top pastry skin is always coated very lightly with honey and have sesame seeds on it which enhances the flavour. The char siew is juicy and sweet. This is the perfect

While waiting for my turn, heard other customers' order and most of the people seems to love paus. lolz...Being a egg tarts freak, definately i would go for EGG TARTS....Not very fantastic i would say! i've tried better tarts in Singapore! Got to love their char siew bao, the bbq pork smell is very nice and the taste of it’s wholesome sweetness just makes my day. The bao skin is soft and fluffy too, a comfort to the mouth. The only thing I hope they could do better is to have a bigger sized char siew bao. So small, eat 1 not shiok leh.

Tried their pau and dim sum couple of time whenever i go toa payoh shopping for grocery, i always orde their char siew pau which are very delicious, siew mai and har kaow. Their char siew filling is very generous and very tasty, siew mai and har kaow which their har kaow has a big shimp in it and siew mai was as usual size and taste like anyother siew mai from other stall. Everything seem satisfied for me except the price was a little pricy. Overall rating is still great!
