I had the curry chicken set which comes with a drink and a bowl of rice as well. I was quite shocked by the very little amount of rice that they gave for one person, it's about 2/3 of what usually a bowl or rice amounts to. For the drink, I had barley, which tasted really really bland. Not only it's diluted, but there's no taste of sugar as well. I had to ask for sugar (no extra charge) and add it inside else I can't even drink at all. don't recommend you to order the barley. As for the curry chicken, it's quite disappointing as well. It does not taste as good as how the picture looks like, the curry was not thick at all! In fact it's quite watery and there was only one drumstick and one piece of potato maybe that's why they gave so little rice, to complement the one drumstick and one potato. I think it's better to order their toasts next time. continue reading

Decided to try the food (not the bread) that was served at Toast Box!! I ordered their nasi lemak while my friend ordered their mee rebus! We also ordered a Bandung with pearl to share.hahaha their nasi lemak was really not bad (was quite skeptical about it when ordering) but i have to say that the price is much more expensive than those nasi lemak from ananas cafe and hawker centres. Anw their nasi lemak comes with fried chicken wing and an egg and i think it cost around $4 plus?!! Taste wise, the rice was quite fragrant (full of coconut milk taste which i like) and the chicken wing is quite crispy too! Their sambal chilli also tasted not too bad, sweet and spicy at the same time (comparable to those from ananas cafe) The standard was definitely better than what I have expected.I also tried my friend's mee rubus which was quite tasty also! Again, the price of the mee rubus was also higher than those found in the hawker centres. The servings of these 2 dishes were moderate, just nice to fill our stomachs. All in all, I think this meal tasted not too bad but I guessed we can find these food with the same/better standard at cheaper prices (hawker centres) I think we might not come here again unless the weather is too hot to eat at the hawker centres or we just want to eat in comfort! continue reading

Feel so pampered today to receive 3 kinds of breakfast and one of them is from Toast Box, the signature's Peanut butter thick toast. For the take away version, the toast is being kept in the paper box with toast box wordings by the side of it. These peanut butter toast is crusty on the outside filled with stomach filling layer of creamy peanut butter on top of the thick soft toast and equally cut into smaller pieces. A must-try item from Toast Box. The complete meal with a beverage costs $3.50. continue reading

I was at Suntec on a Friday morning and got really hungry. So, my colleagues and I headed to Food Republic to have breakfast. I had the round bun with butter on top. It was served with hot coffee and the soft boiled egg.The bread was very soft, it tasted like it's freshly baked. Of course, it went really well with the melted butter on top of it. Yum! The eggs were so hot, so you have to be careful when you crack it open. It's supposed to be mixed with dark soy sauce, but I just put pepper and a little bit of salt. Nonetheless, it still tasted pretty good! Coffee was served really hot, perfect to warm up my empty stomach on a Friday morning. continue reading

I had the ham and cheese toast set which consists of 2 halves of a ham and cheese toast and either coffee or tea for $3. The ham and cheese toast was very good. The toast was made up of 2 slices of well toasted gardenia white bread spread with butter, 2 slices of ham sandwiched inbetween 2 slices of cheese. The decor at this outlet was quite interesting, we had fun looking around. There was big mirror and several small paintings on the walls. My only complaint was the food took very long to arrive. We were done with our coffee even before the toast came and we had to go to the counter to ask for the toast twice before it was finally served to us. continue reading
