One day after school, I dabao-ed Tori-Q yakitori for dinner. I ordered one of their bento selections, because I thought it would be more fulfilling to have it with rice, and also cheaper than ala carte yakitori. I needed to wait for almost 15 minutes for my order to be prepared (the place was quite crowded though).Bento B - $5.90. This combo consists of 4 sticks of yakitori: 2 chickens, 1 chicken with green pepper, and 1 chicken ball, served on a bed of rice with their special sauce. Bento B - $5.90. This combo consists of 4 sticks of yakitori: 2 chickens, 1 chicken with green pepper, and 1 chicken ball, served on a bed of rice with their special sauce. I loved all their yakitoris in this bento. The chicken was marinated perfectly, very flavorful, and fragrant. The meat was tender and not hard to chew. Overall, value for money. I would love to try another menus.

I order a Value set A which costs $5.80. It is a rice bento which has 2 chicken yakitori, 1 pork yakitori, and 1 chicken ball yakitori. For $1 more, it is served with a bowl of miso soup. For a cold wet day, the soup is quite warming to the stomach. The chicken yakitori is quite juicy and soft, as well as, the meatball yakitori. But the pork yakitori tastes a bit dry and hard.

Anyway back to Tori Q, they offer cooked items on a stick (somewhat like satay) which makes it easy for one to make it on the go. They offer a wide selection, such as chicken, chicken skin, pork, chicken karaage, deep fried prawn and more. Some items like the chicken and pork are barbequed and dipped in their special sauce.

I got the bento but i chose my own items, you can also choose their pre-determined sets if you had like. I got the fried gyoza, chicken balls, hot dog and chicken. it came up to about $5.90 in total, including the rice. The bento comes sprinkled with seaweed and pickles.

The chicken is quite tender, having been "grilled" on a rotating stripe and marinated in the sauce, as with the chicken balls. I think the sauce is what makes the chicken so nice. The chicken ball seems to be made up of minced meat and some other ingredients. Quite a nice combination and it's easy to eat too. (My favorite item to order at Tori Q) The hot dog is quite normal, tastes a bit uncooked. The fried gyoza is nice! I like the crispy skin! They are also quite generous with the filling and so i think it is quite worth the price!

Whenever I run out of ideas for lunch, I will head down to bishan to get their Tori Q set meal. The set comes with rice, 2 chicken stick, I meat ball stick and 1 pork stick. The rice taste great with the teriyaki sauce and shredded seaweed. This set cost about $6 and it fills your stomach. There are 2 more set choices or you can customise your own set. If there is not enough meat for you in the set, you can always add on other meat sticks…

If you want to get your Japanese yakitori fix in a fast way, try Tori-Q! There are numerous outlet island wide and can be easily located by its clear glass see through kitchen and yakitori display. I ordered a Set A at $5.80 which consists of 2 chicken sticks, 1 chicken ball stick, 1 pork stick, rice, some purple pickles and a dash of seaweed on top of the rice. The yakitori is dipped into a black sweet and salted sauce before placing them on top of the seaweed bed. The portion is just right and

I'm really happy when Tori Q started to have customizable rice bentos as I'm not a fan of some the items in their standard rice bento. The customizable bento usually comes up to about the same price of their standard bento or slightly more depending on the items you choose. For my rice bento, I chose 2 sticks of Yaki Tori, 1 stick of Pork belly and 1 stick of Chicken skin.Their chicken are usually very good, well cooked but still maintaining the tenderness. For my rice bento, I chose 2 sticks of Yaki Tori, 1 stick of Pork belly and 1 stick of Chicken skin.

Their chicken are usually very good, well cooked but still maintaining the tenderness. Pork belly is a little dry but still okay. My favourite is the chicken skin although it's really sinful.

The Chicken skin is barbequed to crispy on the outside but still a little soft on the inside and is really chewy.

The price came up to $5.50 which is the same price as their standard bento but with all the BBQ skewers that I like. Much more worth in my opinion!

I had this craving since last week, Yaktori was one of the well-known food in Japan. It was selling Bento or you may only buy the BBQ sticks from the stall. I prefer to choose the sticks on my own rather than order by set. The smell of barbequed meat was so irresistible and the beautiful display of meat on skewers was absolutely attractive. Yummy stick of Hand-rolled sliced of pork with asparagus was my favourite. Karaage stick ($1.40), Chicken thigh stick ($1.10), Chicken Balls stick ($1.50), Asparagus stick ($2.20) and the rice ($0.90), it costed me $7.10 for my Bento. So, it was end of my craving.

I must say, their chicken meatballs are really meaty, though I think it is a little pricey. However, the teriyaki sauce along with the reasonably sized meatballs were worth the money. I love their thick carrier bags that they put your orders in, it makes eating it cleaner and more convenient too.

This is the right place to come to if you wish to have a taste of Japanese "satays".Their chicken meatball has been my long time favourite. The meatball is fresh and tender, chewy and moist at the same time, the teriyaki-ish sauce is a great complement with the meatball.Easy to eat and pop into your mouth. However, the sauce is quite watery, be careful not to let the sauce drip onto your clothes.
