While I was waiting for my order, I was mesmerised by the aroma of the tofu puffs barbecuing over charcoal. The uncle was patiently flipping the puffs and fritters to ensure every side was well grilled to crisp. I am impressed because such traditional way of preparing tow kwar pop is really rare these days. Most if not all rojak stalls I have visited only use electric grill or oven to crisp their fritters and puffs to save time and manpower so I really salute this stall for doing it the old scho

At $3, the tow kwar pop were served with accompaniments of sliced cucumbers, turnip, red apple and pineapple just like a rojak. The portion size was good enough for sharing between 2 persons. Though there wasn’t a queue when I was there and I had to wait quite long for my order, I thought it was still worth the time because the tow kwar pop were served fresh, hot and crispy. I liked that the puffs weren’t soaked completely in the shrimp paste so they remained crispy to the last bite. With extra shrimp paste and chilli sauce plated separately, we could just dip each cube into the respective sauces whenever we wanted to. The shrimp paste was rich and fragrant but not overly salty.

Every tofu puff was stuffed with cucumber and bean sports that were blanched perfectly so you’d get this crunch from the vegetables with every bite. The ground peanut that was sprinkled on top complemented the sauce very well, giving it a lovely nutty flavour.

Overall, this was an excellent plate of tow kwar pop. Definitely one of the best I’ve had. This is a must try if you come to Tiong Bahru Market. Two thumbs up!

$5 rojak setThis stall is being introduced to me by my sister-in-law, they barbecue the youtiao and tow kwar pop at their stall when customers order, you can smell the fragrant smell while waiting for your order to be ready, a stall worth to buy, even though a bit expensive, the ingredients are very fresh, with our favourite tow kwar pop, with their rich rojak sauce and chilli and lots of peanuts powder, i love it so much. one of my favourite rojak too,i will go back and buy it again.

The rojak sold here is out of the norm. The ingredients are not all mixed together with the sauce instead you are meant to dip them in the sauce. I had a Rojak - $5 to share and must admit I much prefer the normal style of sauce where the sauce clings to all parts of the ingredients instead of just the part that you dip it in. Worth a try though, I guess.

I love the name of this stall - Tow Kwar Pop. As a fan of rojak and tau kwar bao, I will always order this dish whenever I see it to satisfy my craving. The tow kwar pao is stuff with cucumber and beansprout and it tasted super refreshing. The black rojak sauce used is not too sweet and by adding the peanut does make it taste even better. If you are a fan of dried cuttlefish and century egg, you might also want to add in them for the extra flavor!

I must have been here so many times since I first "discovered" this little gem hiding at one corner of tiong bahru hawker centre. This time, I got my friend to share it together with me, and she was a convert as well. There is just something very addictive about its rojak when ate together with its black sauce and chilli. I loved popping the whole tow kwar into my mouth after dipping it into the chilli. The whole fusion of tastes - sweet, salty and spicy - just explodes in your mouth. I can neve

Got so addictive visiting this stall at tiong bahru market!Love it how they grill the you tiao and tow kwar pop and everything freshly, mixed with fresh cucumber and bean sprout! Also fresh fruits! Not to mention, they gave out rojak sauce and peanut generously as seen in the photo i have posted. Came across this stall while walking around the hawker centre, looking for something new to eat. The stall holders were toasting the tau kwa pop on the spot so it is guaranteed that the tau kwa pop is fresh! There was a variety of fruits in the dish, including slices of apple, pineapple and cucumber. Their black prawn paste was not too salty, but you could add more flavour with the extra sauces provided at the sides. The addition of lots of peanut crumbs as topping made the dish very crunchy.

This is my second time eating rojak from this stall, the first time was a few months back. I will only eat this if my father is with me, since he is the one who likes it more than my mum and I. This time around, we did not have long to wait unlike the previous time. The ingredients are all cut on the spot upon ordering and also the youtiao is very crispy. I like crispy youtiaos since it is more tasty. I don't like those soft youtiaos that have been sitting out for a long time since they will get all soggy and soft from absorbing the rojak sauce. What I also like about is there are green mango shreds which is very appetitsing. Though it costs $4, but it is worth eating it once a while

This is one popular rojak stall and the sauce is thick enough and the ingredients are the usual yu tiao, dried cuttlefish, tau kwa pop and etc. Often they maintain their standard from the roasting of the ingredients, and at least I have yet to eat any of them that has any rancid oil taste so far and there's always a queue. I had a pair of yu tiao and a small piece of dried cuttlefish and cost me at $3.50.

This is one very expensive plate of rojak, at $4 each. However, this price is justified, because of the extra ingredients the stall owner adds into the rojak, like cuttlefish and green mango. Also, one thing very special about this rojak is that the stall owner do not mix all the prawn paste into the ingredients, but only a little and serve the rest of the prawn prawn in a saucer. Similarly with the chilli. I love this preparation since I can control the amount of prawn paste I want to add to my

I love this preparation since I can control the amount of prawn paste I want to add to my taupok/pineapple etc etc. All the ingredients like the cuttlefish, youtiao and taupok are very crispy. The taupok is also very special, it is used to wrap the cucumber and beansprouts. Recommended!!
