This chicken rice left a very deep impression on me because of their close attention to details. I used to always order the Chicken Rice ($3) when I was working nearby. The chicken is very tender and fresh, and somehow you can just taste that it's a few notches higher than the usual "chicken rice" at any other hawker centres. They also have a soup accompanying the rice, which contains corn and you can tell that the soup base has been simmered in chicken bones for hours. Not some MSG-laden sort of soup that you usually get at food courts. So much better in quality at such a cheap price! Definitely worth it. Their cutlery is always clean (you may think it's basic but many could not achieve this) throughout my frequent visits to the stall. Haven't tried Tian Tian yet, but I think this is the best chicken rice in SG and should be quite difficult to be better than this. They always have a long queue at lunchtime, but clears very fast. continue reading

This chicken rice stall is located just opposite one of the famous carrot cake stalls -serving up delectable Hainanese Chicken Rice to patrons.A $3 portion would get you a plate of fragrant chicken rice, a side plate of chicken and a bowl of soup.First off, the rice is really super fragrant -the grains are slightly oily and the texture is near-perfect. There is a hint of ginger in the rice, and it's savouriness makes it perfect to just have on its own. The rice portion is also just nice -guys may want to "加饭“ (or add rice) haha. The chicken is smooth and not too dry, it's perfect with the oil and soy sauce -not too oily and not too salty either. The thinly sliced chicken gives it a great texture. The chilli isn't too spicy, I could have done with spicier chilli! It's tangy and packs a punch though, when eaten with the ginger (that was a tad watery to be honest), it's heavenly The soup is tasty too -it has a slightly medicinal aftertaste that I cannot quite put my finger on. It's not unpleasant though, it does have a nice touch to it and it complements the entire dish well. All in all, this $3 is well worth your money!! I recommend asking for breast meat -it's not too dry because of the thickness of the sliced chicken. Definitely worth a try. continue reading

This chicken rice was packed from the stall by my friend. The portion was quite large, the chicken rice is quite wet, not bad, but a bit too oily for me. As for the chicken, it was not very tender, but acceptable. The only thing I don't like is that it is not boneless, so when eating rice, there's some small parts of bone inside each mouthful. The liver part was not bad, at least no stinging smell. continue reading

The chicken rice here is much more fragrant than other chicken rice stall. The rice grain is separated apart and every mouthful of it is really fragrant and soft. The chicken meat here is full of the fragrant from the sesame oil and the chicken meat is very tender and juicy. Especially like that smooth chicken skin which is so chewy and not too oily. The garlic chilli sauce here is full of the fragrant from the minced garlic and is very spicy but also very delicious. Sure you will enjoy the plate of chicken rice just like me. continue reading
