Kim Poh Claypot Rice is quite popular among my colleagues, they name it second after the one located opposite Clementi MRT Station. Ordered the personal version of claypot rice at S$5.00 & shared between 2 pax. Ignore the groans from your stomach, just bear for about 15 minutes of my lunch hours till the food is served, one's patience will eventually be rewarded when the steaming claypot is seen heading towards your table direction. The aromatic rice comes thick, fluffy and well charred with crusty smoky flavor from the bottom mix with slices of Chinese sausages and hints of salted fish within bites. The flavored chunks of chicken was well marinated, succulent and sweet. They do sell a wide selection of soup too. We had ordered the old cucumber and lotus soup at S$3.00 each. Each little pot of soup was rich in taste filled with nutritional benefits. The pork ribs and meat were slowed cooked to softness simmering on the stove. What's best about the soup is that they are not oily! Yums! continue reading

Claypot chicken rice is quite common but claypot sesame oil chicken is my first time trying. Cooked on Charcoal stove, this is what I had for dinner. When it was served to me, I can hear and see the bubbling of the hot gravy. I like the gravy which had a strong sesame oil taste. This dish went very well with the plain rice. continue reading
