Twelve cupcakes has become a pretty popular cupcake chain that now has many outlets throughout the island. I decided to get some cupcakes for a party the other day to try them out. The cupcakes were pretty small, so I found them a little pricey with price tags of $2.50 - 3 for a small cupcake. As you can see on top, there's a lot of vanilla cream and it is quite sweet and is topped with a heart shaped as decoration to be the centre of attraction. Twelve cupcakes isn't very cheap therefore would expect the quality of cupcakes to be better than those normal kind. By the appearance of the cupcakes, it looks really good and they displayed it very well and attractive to customers passing by.This is the peppermint chocolate which i felt it is nice and i was told this is the limited edition kind. Decided to try these cupcakes after all my friends have tried! At 3 dollars per cupcake, i would say it would be an occasional treat for a poor student like me. Bought the red velvet and oreo cheesecake cupcakes to try and they were pretty good! Love the flavour and the fact that the icing were not super overpoweringly sweet and much. Since there are three of us, we each chose a flavour, I got the Peanut butter chocolate cupcake, while my two other friends choose two other flavours, the signature red velvet (not pictured) and this other flavouring which I forgot. What I do remember is it tastes very nice as well since we each had a nibble of each other’s cupcakes. I love the PB chocolate cupcake for its smooth and creamy PB which just goes so well with the chocolate cupcake. I really loved the cupcake. It is unlike any other that I have tried. Headed down to Twelve Cupcakes at United Square. Haven’t tried any of their cupcakes yet, so was excited to finally get a chance to grab a bite!There was still a wide variety of cupcakes with various mesmerizing toppings to choose from when I visited during weekday lunch time. Each cupcake sells for $3 and they have daily special flavours which change every month, which you can check out from their website.I had an Expresso cupcake and Red Velvet cupcake (individually packed in their special octagonal plastic “enclosures” to go). I wasn’t very impressed with the espresso cupcake; the espresso flavour wasn’t strong enough for me, it just didn’t really come out enough in either the topping or the cake. But I have to say I like their soft moist, cake like texture in their cupcakes, combined with its buttery cream frosting. The Red Velvet cupcake was not bad at all. The strong, cheesy flavour from the vanilla cream cheese frosting complemented the soft, fluffy red velvet cupcake. Had a chance to talk to Dan, and he gave me a red velvet cupcake to taste - it was pretty good, and I ended up buying 3 to taste. My favourite is still the red velvet cupcake, with the delicate cream cheese frosting on top of a chocolate base. However, it's a little too small for $3 a pop. On the other hand, this means you can eat more of other flavours without getting too full. It's not one of the best cupcakes around, but it's definitely a cut above the regular chains.…Read More
