I ordered the 1837 tea time set menu ($18++), which included a pot of TWG tea as well as a choice between two scones, two muffins and a patisserie from the trolley. To my disappointment, the raisin-studded scones looked better than they tasted- they were dry and overly crumbly, and weren't buttery enough for my liking. At least they were warmed before serving.

While the red tea jelly was quite nice, I would have preferred my scones to be paired with rich clotted cream instead of whipped cream.

A pot of tea at TWG costs $11++ and upwards, and no refills of hot water are provided as the tea has already been strained before serving. (FYI: No sharing of teapots is permitted.) Fragrant and calming, my Vanilla Bourbon Tea was just one of the numerous teas on offer- you'll definitely have a hard time choosing your beverage here! I didn't take to its slightly sour tang though.

TWG serves some of the finest teas in the world. The teas are brewed to perfection and served in nostalgic gold plated pots. Whilst the tea is superb, the food is less so. Although the presentation is nice and portion sizes are generous the taste is not convincing. And actually there is no point having a full plate when the food is not yummy enough to finish it. Also the gravies do not seem to be home made which would be unacceptable for a would-be high end place.
Desserts and cakes are better than the savoury food but nothing to write home about either. The canneles for example are soft and moist throughout which is not authentic and boring texture-wise. If they are made the traditional French way, canneles have a crisp almost burnt caramelised shell and are soft inside.

On the whole, TWG is a place with a nice ambience and serves arguably the best teas in town. Service and food however can be improved on. Considering the rather average taste and rather steep prices, I would save my money and appetite to eat elsewhere and only go for the tea. If you have a sweet tooth, just add a macaroon to go with your tea but beware - they are very sugary indeed.

Look nice right? I overheard it from my friend that it is nice. So i was waiting for my exam to end and decided to buy one box to share it with my family. The price for macarons are at $2 each which is affordable for me.The macarons were so small that makes me feel cheated(in the picture like so BIG!). Well good things doesn't have to be big right? Well, It just too sweet for me. It doesn't really meet my expectation but I will give 6.5 out of 10. And the outer layer not as crispy as I wants it

Well, It just too sweet for me. It doesn't really meet my expectation but I will give 6.5 out of 10. And the outer layer not as crispy as I wants it to. May be it is because I didn't put it in the refrigerator for few hours after I've purchased it

I would like to try other dishes by TWG so wait for me to explore~

I went to TWG tea salon with my girlfriend for some delicious high tea. We ordered some yummy macaroons and sandwiches to share since we had a filling lunch. The macaroons at TWG are simply delicious. The fillings are not too sweet. The sandwich is really delicious too, the bread is toasted till crispy and it is served with a healthy dose of salad. Great for the health conscious!

I am shopping together my girlfirends. After shopping. we like to have some pastry for our tea session. It was a long queue, but we only waited for 30mins. My first impression of the ambience that is very classy and the waiters and waitresses are well-dressed too. Overall, it was a good experiece. The pastry is good and the tea is nice, price wise abit high but i don't mind come back for tea session again.

Finally I went to the well-known TWG Tea Salon & Boutique @Ion Orchard for brunch with my friends. =)

They have a really wide selection of tea available on their menu. I think 3 of us spent too much time on which tea to pick as the names given were quite fanciful & we just couldn't decide which to choose.
Luckily, there was no queue at the restaurant & we could get a table immediately when we arrived slightly before 11am. They do not accept any reservations on weekends & public holidays.

Here's what we ordered:

1. Midsummer Brunch set

This set comprises of 1 pot of TWG Tea (price $10.50 or less), freshly squeezed orange or apple juice, Summer Quiche, choice of either 2 scones or 2 muffins served wif TWG Tea Jelly & whipped cream, & choice of 1 Tea Pattiserie. All for $36++.

The Quiche was quite tasty, though it's vegetarian. We picked scones over muffins, and if you eat it with the TWG Tea Jelly, it's really yummy! Even without the tea jelly or whipped cream, it was great.
However, the Tea Pattiserie which we picked (Pumpkin cake) was too eggy for our liking. No taste of pumpkin, so disappointing......

2. 1 main course - Spring Lamb Stew

The lamb "stale" smell was very strong, so I didn't really enjoy. But my friends were fine with it as they like mutton/lamb stuff. However, the meat was a bit tough for all of us. This costs $22++.

3. 2 desserts - Tea Pattiserie Collection, i.e. selection of 1 cakes from trolley, &
Tea Pastry set, i.e. Madeleines with Earl Grey Fortune Tea (3 pcs)

The Tea Pastry set (Madeleines with Earl Grey Fortune Tea) is served with the TWG Tea Jelly & Whipped Cream, costs $8++. The TWG Tea Jelly is really very fragrant. My friend even ate the jelly on its own when we had no more pastry to spread the jelly on haha.

As for the Tea Pattiserie collection, we could choose any 1 cake from the trolley ($8.50++). So this time we picked Pistachio Raspberry cake. There were 4 little rosebuds on the cake, & wonder if it was due to these buds, but the cake had a very strong rosy aroma. No hint of pistachio flavour too. Both cakes that we ate were a tad too unique for us to give our thumbs up.

4. The pots of tea

Guess this is the main star of the brunch hehe. I had the Sweet Innocence tea which was somewhat like a fruit tea. Quite refreshing, I like! ;) 1 friend had the Forest Rain tea which smelled like green tea with a tinge of fruit aroma in it. Also pretty nice. As for the Irish Morning tea, it felt the most "normal", like the typical red tea we have. All 3 teas cost $10.50++ each, but 1 pot of tea was included in the Midsummer Brunch set. So we only had to pay for 2 pots.

All in all, our bill came to a total of $112.40, which well, I admit, wasn't cheap.
But at least we had the experience of how TWG Tea Salon is like keke.

Personally, I think it's fine to come here to relax & have a pot of exquisite tea from their vast collection. However, if you are thinking of having fine quality food together with your exquisite tea, maybe you shouldn't pin too high expectations, as the high price you pay doesn't mean that you get excellent tasting food. It's likely that you will be able to get better value-for-money food at such prices. You are more likely to be paying for the great ambience in this restaurant
