We were in Tiong Bahriu Plaza to watch a movie at GV & after that we decided to have lunch. We were in the mood for some Japanese food so we headed to Umisushi. I looked at their impressive menu, plus the layout of sushi, Sashmi & salads. I then decided to buy a Umi Sushi Yakiniku beef. It was a combo of Rice & beef. The shredded beef was so perfectly cooked with a yummy soya sauce. It was really very tasty. The jasmine rice too, topped with black sesame was so tasty & went well with the beef, we had it with soya sauce, wasabi sauce, vinegar & some mashed potato. The combo costed about 5 $. continue reading

Ate Umi Sushi with my best pal yesterday for dinnner! They're having this offer where you buy $5 and above you only have to pay $1 for salmon sushi I'm in love with Salmon Sushi.Anyway so I ordered udon $4.50, kind of pricey, but the quality is worth it.I honestly feel that they should have more variety available because the udon is like only with crabmeat. I don't mind paying more if there is chicken. The udon texture is really juicy and bouncy, it's good quality. But the crabmeat.. i mean all crabmeats still taste like the one you buy frozen from supermarkets isnt it?Plus the service is terrible, the lady keep asking us to go to the other Umi counter (it is separated with one cake shop in the middle) and we had to walk up and down because the other counter was closed, and we asked for chopsticks and spoon in counter one but they asked us to go counter two to take. So we walked uip and down for four times. And there is no self-service sign over there but she ask us to collect self-service. I think it's unfair treatment because they think we are young. The soba (if i'm not wrong) .. i only got to taste one spoon but it's not as nice as i expected. Salmon sushi. The quality depends on how long they have put it there, i think there needs to be a consistency because sometimes it taste really FRESH and yummy, but when you see moisture on the plastic front it means they put there for quite long. i feel they shouldn't make so many in batches because especialyl when it comes to at night, it's always not fresh. continue reading

The onigiri at umisushi is not bad. I tried the tuna flavour one and liked it a lot. If you're a tuna lover, you'll be quite happy with this because the filling is quite generous, not extremely generous but slightly above average. The good thing about this is that the seaweed piece is packed separate from the rice by a plastic foil so the seaweed is still very crispy as you'll only wrap it on the rice at the moment when you're about to eat it. Good design! continue reading

went down to tiong bahru to meet friend and felt hungry after that so gotten some snack from umisushi. the salmon sushi with mayonnaise on top was quite nice, at first i was a bit skeptical about the salmon freshness but it turned out not too bad. the down side of umisushi is that it does not have a large variety of sushi platter, mainly are 2 pieces of sushi per set continue reading

Umisushi which is part of the Neo Group Pte Ltd family is certainly expanding their outlets around Singapore. I first seen Umisushi around MRT stations and now it has also emerged in the shopping malls and planning to have two more outlet opening soon at Kallang MRT and Changi City Point. There is a night promotion going on when we bought the sushi. That is buy 3 and get 1 free. Thus we choose our favourite sushi. Their sushi are Fresh, Healthy and yummy. No pork and no lard for their Bento sets too. Also, only in Tiong Bahra branch do they sell salad and soup so do give them a visit when you are at Tiong Bahra Plaza. continue reading
