Vivavox Cafe is a fusion cafe withcosy ambience and polite service, serving a variety of pasta dishes, meatss, salads and coffee on the menu. Yes, this time, my foodhunt has taken me to the west of Singapore, a secluded, tranquil cafe nestled amidst the foliage of greens and a calm, man-made pond - right in the heart of a modern business district in Jurong area. For drinks, I had an Iced Hazelnut Latte (SGD$5.00), slid smoothly on the throat in its icy form, soothing on a hot day. Taste-wise, it was sweet with detectable coffee flavour, but where was the hazelnut hint?It took me a while to decide on what I wanted, with the scorching sun and my potential sore-throat on the way, plus I was sitting alfresco. The set lunch was tempting, but I decided not to take the risk, so I settled for the Smoked Salmon (SGD$17.50) - a fillet of well textured salmon that was nearly crispy on the edges, and the inside was done Norwegian-style, a straddling the thin lines between soft and springy texture, almost like sashimi. I was pleased with the recommendation by the service crew. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/11/lunch-at-vivavox-cafe-international.html  continue reading

The mushroom soup here is quite disappointing. It does not have the thick texture that I expect from a decent restaurant. Well first of all, as you can see from the picture, the soup is quite runny, which means that there's quite a lot of water added to dilute it. Also, the mushroom are not generous enough as you can hardly feel it in your mouth. So no 'bite' to the texture of the soup. The taste was mediocre. All in all, do not order this if you're here at this restaurant. continue reading

This prawn aglio olio s above average. The cheese shavings on top add to the flavour of the dish, which otherwise might be bland for people who enjoy heavy tastes. My palette is light so I did like this prawn aglio olio. The spaghetti was cooked just right and the prawns were quite fresh. So it is a dish that is worth eating if you happen to be around the area, otherwise, it's too ordinary to specially make a trip there for. continue reading
