We also ordered deep fried wanton as sides. The deep fried wanton taste really normal. Nothing special about the wanton. My impression was that the wantons were bought at supermarket and all they do was to deep fried them.I think i will not visit or bring my friends to Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room for meal next time after such bad dining experience.

Decided to pop by wang chai cafe for our lunch after school. And i must say it was a really good decision. Food were great, prices were affordable, service staffs were quite pleasant. However it can really get very crowded during lunch and dinner time and you will see a queue of people. We were given the paper and pencil to tick the order and we will then proceed to the counter to place an order and make payment. After that, just wait for your food to arrive and start enjoying!! Spare ribs with black beans $6.50 The rice is very fragrant with the meat gravy with it. With each / baked rice ordered, there will be a complimentary of a daily soup served. Hk baked pork chop rice $8.50The pork chop is boneless which makes it very convenient to consume. The cheese is melted on top of the rice, and some parts of it are crispy. Very simple and nice to consume.

My wanton noodles was the soup version and there are a total of 4 wantons. Quite expensive and not very worth it in my opinion. The wantons are quite ordinary and the noodles are quite hard as well. I would probably not order this again, since I can easily get better wanton noodles outside at half of this price.

My friend was hit by caffein attack and we decided to come to Wan Chai. I do like certain of the food here which is the traditional butter toast with maple syrup and the watercress drink. The toast were nicely fried with egg and then they placed a piece of butter and poured maple syrup on it and it tasted so good. As for the watercress, it's refreshing and nice as they added honey t

The store here is crowded with people during dinner time and we had to wait quite a while for a table. It is not really a shop by itself, but more of a kiosk with enough tables and chairs. I ordered the chicken baked rice with mushroom. The serving is huge and so was the chicken (probably quarter chicken). You can add a dollar for the drumstick portion, which I think I will the next time. The chicken itself is quite dry, cooked a little too long. Rice was nice and really cheesy. Food is good, th

Food is good, though the place gets a little crowded and noisy, especially with the added noise from outside.

Whenever i go to those hong kong restaurant, i would always order their baked rice. It just looked more appealing than the other food there. I tried the Yuan yang baked rice this time round. My friend was still joking that this baked rice is made with the sauce of a "tea-coffee" mixture, cause that was what yuan yang normally meant. Luckily, it was not. Their baked rice was pretty decent. The oyster tasted relatively fresh, but it was hard to get the prawn shell off. They are generous with their cheese and it really cover every single inch of the plate. Better than most western restaurants that i went before. And it comes with a soup of the day!

I had the iced milk tea, and it comes with a scope of ice cream, which i did not expect. Though i am a ice cream lover, i had just wanted my plain iced tea at that time, and i was slightly fed up that there was no description.

Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room is always having a long queue during its rush hour, which is totally justifiable. It is simply fabulous.

They serve a variety of Hong Kong dishes but I think their items are still their snacks, sides and deserts. The most famous and common item that everyone will order is their fried chicken wings. Might be a little bit oily for some, but it is the juicy, succulent and oily taste that traps the freshness inside, for those who loves fried chicken, I'm sure you can understand what I mean.

Personally, I like traditional Chinese desert, and my personal favourite here is the almond and sesame paste. Basically it is a mixture of the two paste which blends incredibly well together, and with a irresistible fragance. For those who do not like the strong smell of almond, then I would recommend the sesame paste instead. Not too fine and not too coarse, just smooth enough to swallow and taste the freshness of the sesame paste.

My favourite dish however will still be the pork chop bun (zhu pa bao). It is like the Hong Kong version of pork burger. A slice of fried pork fillet with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, topped with lightly grilled bun, it is GREAT!! Writing about it now makes me hungry!

An only downside is that the restaurant is rather open spaced, without its own walls or glass panels surrounding it. As such, some might dislike the lack of privacy and passer-by looking at you while you are dining.

My verdict: A must-go! A must-try!

went there during lunch time, quite crowded, we are four ppl, so wait about 10 minutes. You can order the food first, so not brother me too much. i ordered , oily but quite nice, the rice is soft not that soft, right level. I always like their fried chicken wing, shrimp sauce虾酱鸡翅, also very oily, but freshly cooked, crispy and tasty, nice. the environment is quite noisy, but it is ok for a quick lunch bite.

Is it expensive to have a glass of ice lemon tea for $2.40? Maybe. I think generally the food here is ok just that the price tag is kinda high. A lunch for 2 cost about $20 consist of a glass of ice lemon tea, a century egg + minced meat porridge, a plate of boiled veg and 1 macau fried rice. Porridge was ok with 4 minced meat balls but somehow it lacked something. Not sure what. Veg was not overly cooked but was a taken aback by the $5 pricetag. Would you pay $5 for a plate of veg? Normal fare of steam rice with soup. The chicken is not really that fresh with alot bones while not very meaty. The mushroom and sausages are so pathetic that there are still alot leftover rice after finishing up all the ingredients.Normal hong kong eatery restaurant of average pricing as well.
