Apparently blk 92 whampoa market was closed for renovation, I found one stall blk 85 that resembles and has the same signboard as the original. Went to order 3 bowls of takeaway soyabeancurd, the toppings were as usual filled to the brimbut the staff, 3 of them was chatting all the way. As i was buying for 2 elderly, i requested less sugar but I was ignored and they kept talking among themselves. I was the only one oredering and it took me 5 minutes to get my soya beancurd. Unlike Lao Ban Tau Huay, Whampoa Soya Bean and Grass Jelly serve traditional Tau Huay which is silky and smooth. It is hard to find this quality of traditional Tau Huay these days. Their queue is endlessly long, that shows how good their desserts are. My mother likes the combination of soya bean and grass jelly drink. For $1, you can get a large cup! I think it is rather bang for the buck.

Another bowl of interesting find from this stall is its combination of soften Ginko Nuts, Lotus Seeds, Kidney Beans and Tau Huay. A fantastic harmony of Tau Huay smoothness and bites from the beans/seeds. The texture of Tau Huay belongs to the traditional kind unlike the "Soyabean Pudding" we had in trend nowadays. A slightest pressure on them would just simply disintegrate them into our mouth, as good as "melting in mouth" feeling. And also part of the reason of my liking.
Cost: $3

Quite a common bowl of dessert that we can get in most of the desserts stall perhaps. Not too sweet with the preserved longans and rather cooling bowl of delight after meal. Grass Jelly tasted towards bitter with herbs unlike those that we commonly get in the market place.
Cost: $2

I really like grass jelly drink and at the same time really like soy bean drink too! So this combination of soybean with grass jelly strips is perfect for me. This drink costs $1 and is a rather large cup. There is always a long queue for this stall too! The soy bean taste is strong and not too sweet and the jelly strips add contrast of texture to the smooth soy bean.

Ordered some soy bean drink to go along with my local breakfast. For one dollar I get a large cup that is filled with fresh soya bean dink. The drink is refreshing and chilled and is sweetened just nice so that it is neither too sweet nor tasteless. The drink also does not have too much ice such that it does not get too diluted after awhile. Overall a good choice for a quick and cheap local drink though not outstanding.

My title sums up my overall impression of my visit to this stall. Order the grass jelly with jelly nata de coco and my friend had soya beancurd with kidney beans and peanuts. My grass jelly is just right for a hot weather. It was also not overly sweet and surprisingly the grass jelly combined well with the nata de coco. This is not a usual combination but its sure an above average combination. Definitely be back for more next time. $3.60 for our 2 bowls of dessert.

Lesson learnt. Never ask for a hot soya bean drink. The drink was so hot, I was hardly able to take the cup for more than 5 seconds. I had to leave the soya bean drink on the food tray in order for me to get it to my table. That aside, the drink is quite thick and delicious. The amount of sugar syrup is just nice but you may like to ask for lesser if you are health conscious.

Another stall that served very nice soya bean milk. I always ordered from this stall whenever i come here for lunch or dinner. They have never disappoint in their standard so far. The soya bean has the right sweetness level and quite thick. Their grass jelly drink is very good too. The stall is always crowded during lunch so need a bit of patience when ordering drinks here.

This particular stall is my regular choice in this food centre. Other than the grass jelly drink and soya bean drink, i do enjoy their grass jelly desserts too. I decided to have soya bean drink this time to go with my handmade noodle from that famous stall. This cup of soya bean drink has gotten a thick and fragrant soya bean taste at the right sweetness. It might not be the best that i ever had but it definitely amongst one of the better ones out there.

I enjoyed it very much as this is definitely a better choice as compared to the canned soft drinks.

Had myself a soya bean drink and requested for lesser sugar syrup. The soya bean drink's texture is not very milky, causing the drink to be less smooth. Nothing to shout about at this stall but nothing's that bad either. Saw quite a few people order the tou hua instead.
