This place was introduced by Ron and he always eat here for lunch. So just happened that i went to his office nearby to wait for him, he decided to bring me here for dinner. In fact, we came here about 8pm and the queue was still quite long. But we are lucky enough to find seats, even though the space is not big. I guess its because everyone here has this idea of "Eat and Go" rather than eat then chit chat. Bull Run Noodle ($8.00) - Chicken with Green soba noodle. The portion was not very big but it turns out to be filling. Food not very oily. The noodle itself has not much taste so must mix well with the seasoning. Salmon Noodle ($9.00) - Salmon with Green soba noodle. The Salmon is abit dry compared to the chicken. Black soya milk ($1.60) - I really love this. It feels so healthy and nice. Its not sweet at all. But Ron did not like this, maybe its because its not sweet to him.

The photo is actually the order - Salmon. The names for each dishes at WHEAT are usually named after the main ingredient, or an animal, like penguin and whale. As for SALMON, I like how the portion of salmon is worth the S$9 for this meal. This set meal comes with choice of drink - Ice lemon tea or Water Chestnut. The wheat is absolutely healthy, although it's a little salty. WHEAT sells amasoy beancurd too! Celine

The core business of Wheat Baumkuchen is still their Baumkuchens. Baumkuchen is a type of layered cake origin from Germany. It is literally translated as "tree cake" because of the rings formed from the different layers of the cake. Baumkuchen was later introduced in Japan and became popular. For the plain Baumkuchens, we shared the Green Tea and Classic Original flavours. Actually Baumkuchen resembles Kueh Lapis. another type of layered cake that is popular in South East Asia. However Baumkuchen has a firmer texture and at least at Wheat Baumkuchen there are different flavours to cater for different palates.I thought it was very innovative and creative of Wheat Baumkuchen to transform the traditional Baumkuchen into a modern delicacy with different toppings like similar to the cupcakes. These injection of modern elements into a traditional snack definitely will help to capture the taste buds of the new generations.

found this newly opened wheat baumkuchen pastry bar at raffles place. Saw a similar cake at takashimaya . Its made from a huge toll of cake and sliced into many pieces. Signature cakes are the classic and green tea. I tried the green tea, its really good. cake roll is fragrant and moist without being soggy. There are a huge range of varieties such as strawberry, chocolate and sweeter ones topped with nuts and cream
