My friend had just arrived in Singapore and we have decided to meet up over for dinner in wild honey for its ALL-DAY-BREAKFAST Meal.

It took us quite a while to understand and order the food as there was no hard copy of menu available on the table. However, the menu is all written on the chalkboard next to the cashier counter. Just plain words written on the chalkboard, its hard to make a choice without much illustrations. To help customers overcome this issue, wild honey actually provided few ipads over the counter with pictures illustrating the dishes.

Food
The Queen Bee, S$9.00. A drink that matches the title of the name. Interesting! This refreshing drink is made with fresh grapefruit juice and honey. You will get a big slice of grape fruit in your glass too.

English, S$24.00. This is the most common and standard looking plate among all the breakfast on the menu. Comes with scrambled eggs, back bacon, cumberland pork sausage, sauteed mushrooms. I love the Dad's baked beans especially as it was a little spicy and the shape of the beans are kind of unique. The small chunks of breakfast potatoes are filling. Not forggeting the grilled vine ripened juicy tomato and signature brioche, I love them too!

Italian, S$24.00, was actually the dish of the day and recommended by the staff. This Italian Style frittata was enriched with half tomato, spinach, bacons and 2 poached eggs with a bed of sauteed mushroom hidden below them. Dish was make presentable with some designs on the side of the plates.

Parisenne, S$22.00. The cheesy sticky french toasts and 2 sunny side up eggs had stolen the scene of the dish. The french toast isnt that plain as it consists of leg Ham, gruyere cheese and Dijon mustard. With everything inplace of on the plate, the hollandaise sauce was included to enhance the taste.

Service
Polite, friendly and patient service received. Service was above average.

Ambience
Rustic looking and cosy corner which is great for a good catch up with pals. On a tuesday night, it was not that crowded as expected.

Price
I would said in terms of presentation, every dish deserved its listed price. As it was delicately prepared.

Recommendations / Tips
It will be good that one look at the illustrated menu before ordering.

Initially, I was quite surprised when one of the staffs went “Mdm, no photography for our menus.” Wah I never go before a popular dining place that tells me no photography yet leh… wild honey, you’re the first.

One picture menu is available on an iPad at the counter, otherwise just read off their boards written in colourful chalks. No tangible menus for you to flip and be choosy about. Choose at the counter, pay and wait for your food to be served. Wah… like so authoritative. Note: the 10% service charge still applies.

Luckily my seat’s view not bad… still managed to capture the general feel of the breakfast/brunch restaurant. Sofa seat for me! “Wild honey, no place like home.” quite homely with the sofas around.

“TUNISIAN” signature, $18. For a bread lover, the crispy yet soft bread could easily satisfy one's craving. Spicy sizzling pan of tomato stew with pork sausage, eggs and toast. 7.5/10!

My “EUROPEAN” signature, $18. The very popular eggs benedict, eggs, mushroom, bacon. 9.5/10! The whole dish just melted in my mouth. Very good combination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The eggs were splendid. SPLENDID. Creamy and thick. Mushrooms were enough although I don’t mind more, bacon wasn’t too salty, toast was a bit thick but generally okay for me. Thumbs up!

Overall acceptable but slightly overrated since the staff wasn't totally friendly, and food prices is steep.

Spoil for choice as usual, so I decided to go for the "Norwegian". Basically it's 2 poached eggs wrapped with smoked salmon on brioche. I guess I made the wrong choice as it doesn't taste as good as how it look in their website (I know right?) The poached egg wasn't really cook to my liking, infact I think it is way too overcooked. The smoked salmon tasted so-so, nothing much to rave about. The brioche was quite hard to cut and I would prefer it to be a little more crunchy. Not sure if I would be back again so fast, but their selection is really tempting though.

Anytime anyone asks me for a recommendation for a breakfast place, I would definitely recommend wild honey. I love the layout of the place because nothing matches, and we got the sofa seat that faced the entrance, which was slightly awkward, but still, the tables were separated well enough for you to feel like you're in a cafe, yet you have your own personal space. It is difficult to describe in words, but I'm pretty sure if you've been there, you would understand what I'm saying.

The food took another half an hour to arrive, but no complaints in that area. It was perfect and absolutely delicious! The mushrooms were sauteed to the right level of buttery, the bacon, sausage and toast were a great combination!

It was both filling and very satisfying. I will definitely be back to try their other offering on the menu because I was so spoilt for choices while staring at the menu.

If you do not mind to pay a little bit more to have a much comfortable environment for your breakfast and to also enjoy really quality food, then you should definitely try Wild Honey. Here the service standard is really high and polite. My personal favourite here will be their sandwich. THe bread has been toasted till really crunchy. The added hams and scrambled eggs certainly has enhanced the sandwich taste and is very satisfying.

It consisted of sauteed mushrooms, scrambled eggs, Serrano ham, all topped onto crumpets with grilled tomatoes on the side. I have a bone to pick with their scrambled eggs. Honestly, you could get the same scrambled eggs at home (hazard of knowing how to cook when you compare your own food to those outside!!). I was very upset for paying so much for this plate of sauteed mushrooms, which weren't very tasty at all, and I felt like the chef had left out all seasoning in the food. Granted, the ham was salty, but apart from that everything else was tasteless. Maybe he wanted us to taste the freshness of the funghi or the natural herb taste but it was too bland for me, given that both the scrambled eggs AND the mushrooms were sorely lacking in saltiness; topped onto crumpets which are starchy and yet again, tasteless. The tomatoes were good though, they were fresh, juicy and sweet -so no complaints there.

For $22++, this is really un-worth it. The service was not at all fantastic either. The ham and tomato was just not enough to salvage this dish. I admit that I'm not a huge fan of crumpets and I'd rather they used bread or toast, but putting this fact aside in order to be partial to this review-this dish is a sub-pass in my opinion. For such an overpriced dish, you are better off eating something that is very difficult to prepare at home: i.e., Eggs Benedict, or their chorizo in the Tunisian breakfast. Note that my company did order the eggs benedict and he felt that it was lacking in taste too even though the egg was cooked with a good standard.

I must tell all of you that I don't like my food to be too salty, but this was really unacceptable to me. This whole experience has proved to me that Wild Honey is really overrated -the food isn't all that great! Maybe it's worth trying, especially for those that are really difficult to prepare at home. But for items like scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, pancakes etc? No way.

Also, the branch at Mandarin Gallery is reaaaaallly dimly lit, I'm not too sure if it's meant to be this way or that day was just particularly dark, but I felt that the ambience and feel of the place was just all wrong. The Victorians setting and decor was pretty, yes, but the lighting was a fail. For an all-day breakfast place, I'm pretty sure better lighting will give off better vibes -after all, it's not a romantic candle-lit dinner diners are looking for, but rather, a chillout place for a lazy brunch or meal with friends to chat.

With that said, you should try it for yourself. You will either love it or hate it.

Wild Honey is kind of an overpriced place to have brunch. I mean their food is not bad, but it's really quite expensive and some of the Breakfast like the European Breakfast is not very filling. I had the English breakfast which consists of 2 thick slices of toast, scrambled eggs, half a tomato, bacon, sautéed mushroom, one sausage and baked beans. This breakfast is definitely fill

But like I say, it's nice but nothing so special to pay for the price. The bread is so thick that I use it to scoop up baked beans and eat. The scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy and the sautéed mushroom juicy and savoury. Didn't like the tomato but that's personal preference.

The coffee at Wild Honey also pales in comparison and the food did not really leave much of an impression.

The restaurant's seats are quite limited and there are only 2 tables that can fit 6 people at one time.

So, we will have to wait for one of the table to clear. It was truly terrible as one of the table customers were talking away and even the next table has turnover ( Changed customers), they are still seating comfortably at the seats. But customers are always right to enjoy the ambience and space as they paid for it. So it actually depends how you judge. However, i feel that it's quite bad to occupy the seats for such a long time despite the service staffs have tried to give hint that they are people waiting outside.

So we ended to have our brunch around 1plus and nearly to 2pm. The branch at Mandarin Gallery does not share the same system with Scotts Square. We will need to self-service to place an order and pay on the spot before we seat down and wait for the foods to be served. It makes me feel like a fast food concept though. But the foods that are ordered will be served by the service staff.

Wild Honey provide the visual and clear explanation of each dish through the ipad. It provides customers to see and visual the foods that are served in the restaurant. So it was a good point here except for the ordering part that we will need to order ourselves at the counter.

After we ordered, we went back to our seats and wait to be served. The serving time was fast within 20 minutes time.

This time round I ordered Californian and consists of eggs softly scrambled with tofu, fresh herbs, red, green and yellow peppers, mushrooms, scallions on chargrilled ciabatta. It's not a good choice for me & Daphne because the whole dish does not have single meat in it. However, the taste is not disappointing at all. The softness of scrambled egg with the mixture of stated ingredients provide different taste.

English Breakfast is the ultimate choice i would say.
The serving is big for me and the variety is there. It's the signature dish @ Wild Honey. I ordered this when i went to the other branch @ Scotts Square.

Next we have the Tunisian.
It's the sizzling pan of spicy shakshouka (Tomato, onion, red pepper, chilli), studded with Chorizo sausage, crowned with two fried eggs, signature brioche & Israeli salad. The presentation is attractive and my friends enjoyed the dish. The sauce is rich and it blends well with the combination of ingredients that comes together.

Phew...our lunch ended around 3 pm if i remembered clearly.
Our dinning speed was quite fast and basically we dine in time period is shorter than our waiting time.
In my point of view, the place is over-rated as the waiting time was super long. Too bad my friends wanted to try as they read many reviews about it. So we waited for it.

Heard about Wild Honey from my friends and they served good breakfast set all day. Decided to give it a try. Ordered a Canadian set. 3 gigantic pan cakes served with grilled bacon, maple syrup and some blueberry jam . The pan cakes are soft and spongy with a mild butter fragrance. Tried both the salty way together with the bacon and the sweet way with the maple syrup. Overall it is quite a tasty meal, however i feel that the price is a bit steep.

I definitely would not eat this dish again if I went back. Why? The pancakes were mediocre at best, there were not fluffy nor tasty. Also, the syrup fell flat. It was not full flavour enough for me, I guess I like my syrup sweet or to at least have some taste. The serving of bacon was also very small. Overall, the whole meal was not worth the amount of money that I had paid. Would probably have preferred pancakes from another place.

It was a Monday afternoon and there was no queue and it was quite empty. The menu was quite extensive and we took a while to decide what we want to eat. Being a person who hates egg yolk :/, I didn't have many choices since I can't eat Eggs Benedicts or dishes with poached eggs.
I wanted to try I love New York -I was attracted to the bagel- but it was unavailable
So I chose Basque in the end.

Basque consisted of toasted brioche, scrambled eggs with red and yellow peppers, onions and Spanish Serrano ham.
I LOVE IT. The scrambled eggs and pepper complemented each other well. I do not really like pepper because I think they have a weird and smell and taste. However, the peppers in this dish was different. It was sweet and juicy and when eaten together with the eggs and spammed with lots of black pepper. BANG!
YUMMY! The ham was tasty too however do take note to eat the ham together with the egg and brioche. Otherwise, it is quite salty on its own.

I will definitely visit Wild Honey again, perhaps once in half a year. The prices were quite steep for a meal. My meal cost $25.90 after GST and service charge. :<

Wild Honey, a shop that had been selling breakfast for all day long. Went there once and to be honest, i think that it is a little bit too expensive for me. Well, the one i ordered is known as french toasts. Well, not too satisfied with it anyway. the waffles are somehow too fluffy, unlike those normal waffles. But the grilled mangoes and the berries somehow taste kinda nice to me. Don't think they worth the price.
