Today I had the Shrimps Crispy Noodle (Shen Mian) at SGD$12.90h, and was glad to find that it held the very flavor of a good, traditional local Zi-Char style crispy noodle. The ingredients were aplenty - there were at least 4 juicy prawns leaping up from the noodle literaly as I flipped the noodle. The egg-starch gravy was thick mixed nicely, not too gooey. Best of all was the noodle - crispy to its name, till I infused part of it into the gravy.

* Leah had the Bamboo Rice with Chicken - it took them a while to prepare, but the chicken was tender and infused with the tasty soy sauce. The rice somehow tasted more fragrant cooked in this manner.

For drinks, I had the Iced Yuzu Drink; it seems lately I am absolutely mad about yuzu (pomelo), but I just adore the refreshy zesty -sweet combination of this fruit. The citrusy drink perked me up tremendously, and was perfect after my mains. Of course, the real yuzu sacs enhanced the overall texture and flavor greatly.

Well, with affordable, homestyled hearty dishes like these, coupled with large variety of drinks, I am not surprised if we return anytime soon.

Saw someone at the next table ordering this red bean ice and we decided to order it. Was a pleasant surprise. Red bean flavour was just right, and the best part is that when you cut open the insides of it there is still red bean and grass jelly. definitely something you cant find elsewhere.

The mango pomelo ice was blah, nothing splendid nor too bad about it. just a normal dish that you can find everywhere.

We each had a main dish and the platter to share. Platters was really big with different dishes inside. Hor Fun served in a big portion it was tasty! Chicken rice was good as well after that will be dessert time for all I opt for the dumplings. It was very Q and chewy. The queue started to form up when we just finished our dessert just nice it was time to go too.

The seating for large groups was kind of limited. I hate the semi circle kind of seatings because sometimes it can be quite cramped especially when you order a lot of food to share.

i almost always order their tang yuan in paste when im here as it is one of those desserts with sizing i felt was okay to eat along. Pretty decent but nothing to scream about. I have tried their entire dessert menu and the warm coconut sago is my favourite item!

Food always served freshly cooked so everything tasted pretty good to me. Loved their dimsum especially gyoza and mango prawn roll.

Place was packed and noisy even at 3am. Service rather quick though took some effort to get attention of staffs at times. Food little pricey in my opinion.

We also order dim sum such as siew mai and har gao which taste ok. We also order the fried item especially the carrot cake is nice I would recommend their yuzu green tea. I would recommend their yuzu green tea. It was my first time trying and I really liked it
It is a mix of yuzu, greentea and honey, I think the honey was a little too much but overall it was a nice try.

Situated at Heartland Mall, Xin Wang has always been a popular dinner/supper joint. This xin wang cafe is larger than the norm, with more sofa seats to offer. It definitely a rice's best buddy in my opinion. Anyway i'm starting to feel that xin wang is always a noisy place with chatters talking away. So if you want a quiet place to dine, better pass on this.

My favourite dish is their homemade papaya soup noodles with pork chop. The soup is quite tasty - although today, the soup I had was a bit diluted compared to the last time I tried it. The pork chop is still good, really tender and well marinated, with a rather big slab given. The noodles are springy - wish they will give more of the noodles though. I like the sweet corn and papaya, together with the boiled egg given. An interesting and nice balance of sweet and savory flavors for this dish.

For the beef brisket noodles, they were cooked slightly too soft and the sauce did not have much flavor to it. However, the beef brisket was well braised till tender.

A nice place for gathering with friends, as the menu has lots of choices.

It took another 15 mins for the food to arrive and when my friend dropped her fork and was trying to get a waiter's attention to have it replaced, we spent around 5 more minutes trying to get the waiter's attention.

The food is great, but the service has to match up to it.

Went to Xin Wang at Kovan for supper. As i was feeling quite crampy, i decided to go for all hot stuffs. I had a warm soya bean drink and a bowl of ginger soup with glutinous rice balls. The soya bean drink was nice and warm. Not too sweet nor bland. As for the ginger soup, it was a little spicy upon first taste. It will make your tummy warm and nice. Didn't really like the taste of ginger. Other than that it was pretty nice. The rice balls are stuffs with peanut paste. Yummy!

Xin Wang was probably the first restaurant in Hougang that opens 24hr. It definitely gave the foodies more options after the wee hours. The place is usually crowded with family on weekends and youngster gathering in groups at night.I met up with a colleague for dinner and I had the Iced Ying Yang and Tender Pork Dry Ramen. The iced Ying Yang was nice with leafy tea taste and not overly sweet. We dined in in the middle of the night at this cafe. Even though it has already been past midnight, the place is still crowded with lots of smokers outside dinning and the rest inside the air conditioned area. The service is fast and staffs are nice. I had bo lo bun which consist of a piece of round sugar coated top bun with a slice of pineapple and butter. It is delicious at any hour! Pair it with a milk tea and you will be good for bed in a while!

Steamed prawn siew mai for us to share and it's great. There's a whole prawn in 1 siew mai itself.

Overall, the dining experience is good but it seems abit overpriced.
