The claypot rice served here is really awesome. We had their Seafood Claypot rice which was served with a cornucopia of ingredients- fresh fat prawns, flsh slices, lap cheong and green leafy vegetables. The salted fish that is embedded in the rice gives the fragrant rice a nice flavour. The mix of black sauce and sesame oil also helps make the rice really tasty. Make sure you mix the rice and ingredients well in the claypot so that the sauces can be evenly coated on every grain of rice! I also like how you have to scrap the residual rice that sticks to side of the claypot. It is one of the best parts of eating claypot rice as these residual rice are usually slightly burnt- they have a really addictive crispy and smokey taste! continue reading

My mother and sister went to bugis street to do some shopping. They took away the claypot rice from albert centre food centre for me. we have been eating the claypot rice from this stall for quite some time already. Their claypot rice is really good. the salted fish is cut into very big pieces, so you have to mash it up and mix with your rice or else it will be too salty. The rice is very fragrant because of the black sauce and oil they add to it. It was pretty filling for one portion. continue reading

Albert Centre and while it's quite well known for it's good hawker foods from as far as 20 years ago, i was there last Satursday and was amazed that all food stalls licence were either in Category B or C and even D and not a single A by NEA and since it's so crowded and this is Singapore, it's really no harm eating.I ordered mixed pork porridge from this stall even though it's licence is Category C and because the porridge taste good like Hong Kong porridge and the ingredients like intestines do not smell, i decided to order a plate of sashimi from them since i kept stareing at their billboard and the local sashimi looks attractive.I'm not disappointed as the plate of sashimi for $4 is fresh and the mixed of oil and lime juice, soya sauce, ginger and slice chillies are well blend. continue reading
