Chinese Carrot Cake is one of the popular breakfast choice among Singaporeans. I will usually order the black sauce version as I felt that it had more taste, unless their specialty is the white version. I also feel that very few are able to cook really good white sauced carrot cake. But as I was craving for some today, I decided to try it from this stall. I would say that the service is very slow as I waited for 10 minutes even though there were only 2 person in front of me! I kind of regret ordering this as there was nothing special about it, tasted very average. The black sauce one is a safer option! continue reading

Hmmm this is one those breakfast stalls that i frequent. It used to be much better when it first started, standards however ard dropping. Maybe it is a sunday thing, but what happens is that the carrot cake a pre-fried. When i ordered (not the first time) my black carrot cake, instead of seeing it being fried on the spot, it was already pre fried and placed in a packet. All the guy said was, 'We just fried this.' I dont care whether he just tried or tried 10minutes ago, the fact is that the carrot cake was no longer warm when we open up the packet. Sighh what a disappointment, what a waste of my calories. I should have order the 'white' version which he was currently frying. K so i guess warning... place your orders depending on what he is frying at the moment. To reiterate... It used to be much much better.... Oh in case anyone is curious about the price, it is $2.50 continue reading

I still loved the taste of preserved radish that gives its the nicely salty taste. The carrot cake itself tasted soft and moist. I suppose they have it specially made as i saw rolls of it nicely packed with their stall name printed on the packaging. Still, if you want a plate of nice fried carrot cake, you can still give this stall a try. They do have both the white and the black version. If you like the taste of black sweet sauce then black is the better choice. continue reading

Even though the carrot cakes here is not towards the crispy version, but because taste so fragrant and the carrot cakes texture is very soft and easy to munch, i think even without that crispyness on it is still quite alright. Lots of beaten eggs are added to it which have that mild egg fragrant on every piece of the carrot cakes. The portion is quite generous and the price here is quite reasonable as well. Well like by the people who stay near that area, and even attract to me who stay at another far end of tampines as well too. continue reading

The carrot cake comes with the white or dark ones. I prefer the white one. The carrot cake is well-fried from the golden brown appearance, and has a good taste supposed from the strong heat and duration of cooking. The egg is slightly crispy and the carrot cake is soft. It has lots of egg and the serving is generous too. continue reading
