What makes Ya Kun a household name in Singapore is their signature kaya toast and other traditional food and beverages offered. Ya Kun has a rich heritage since its' establishment in 1944 till now. Ya Kun kaya toast is unique as they uses brown bread instead of white bread to toast over real charcoal fire until it's crisp. It's so crispy that one as I bite into the toast, a lot of crumbs would fall out. Next is their signature kaya used, which they also sold in bottles. The kaya is made from egg

The kaya is made from egg and coconut with no preservatives, artificial colouring and flavourings added. The crisp toast bread and fragrance of its kaya and butter makes a great choice for breakfast to kick start the day.

I am never bored of Ya Kun traditional toast and ice milk tea. Of course the running eggs also. The serving crew will help you break the eggs, and the eggs look so nice. Some coffee shop will ask you to break it yourself. I never see them fail on cook the beautiful running eggs. You can order your favorite toast and drink in set. I love their traditional toast especially the butter in between the bread. A bit disappointed on the Kaya, they spread too little on the bread. I have the urge to buy the Kaya in bottle that they selling at the counter and apply more Kaya myself.
Is this their marketing strategy? I don know.

I’ve to highlight the server level over there. They do not clean up the mess on the tables so frequent. I’ve waited for quite long until I cannot wait any longer, I stood up and clean up the mess for the table that I am sitting. When the it’s about to close, the aunties there give us the fierce look to chase us away. Of course, I am scared then I packed up and leave there asap.
