Had my coffee fix at Ya Kun. It's located at the basement of Hougang Mall, between Guardian and Pepper Lunch. The coffee here is good, there is a lot of fluctuation of standards in Ya Kun outlets, but the coffee I had here is typical Ya Kun coffee- strong bodied coffee that is very aromatic! continue reading

One of my favorite place for breakfast or tea- yakun. Usually i would go to either the hougang one or seng kang because most of my friends stays around that area. The kaya toast set which comes with kaya toast (4 pieces), 2 half boil eggs ( i love their half boil egg, the timing for cooking their egg is just right, not over cooked or too raw), and a cup of tea/coffee (usually i take the milk tea, their milk tea is thick and just nice for my liking). The kaya toast is really good, nicely toasted bread, crispy one surface and slightly soft on the inside, stuffed and spread with good amount of kaya and sliced butter. their kaya spread taste good, smooth, fragrance and not too sweet. cost around $4 for this set. continue reading

This is a good place to start off the day with a set of good toast, soft boiled eggs and coffee. I loved Ya Kun's coffee because it was so smooth and rich in flavours. You can even smell the nice aroma from the roasted coffee beans. For breakfast, the toast sets are great as it will fill yoor stomach and you will the energy to start off the day. The toasts are crispy. There are many different types of toast sets, including Kaya, Butter sugar, cheese, french toast. If I happened to drop by for tea break, I will have their ice cream toast. continue reading
