Newly renovated with a fresh look, Ya Kun was no longer humble coffee corner but a modern stylish spot to chill out. Today after i knock off from work, my best friend Alieen called me whether want to meet up for coffee session to chit chat.. I replied why not but will only reached toa payoh at 7pm. When i reached HDB Hub, i called her up to meet at Ya Kun. Aileen came down from her office and we ordered our drinks. I ordered tea with milk and she ordered a coffee. We were chatting and gossiping that we forgotten the time till 9pm. It is so great that i can meet up with my best friend to catch up for a while.

i have always loved the iced coffee at Ya Kun. It used to be only $1.80 quite a long while ago but it has raised to $2.20 now. If i am gonna compare, the iced coffee at Ya Kun tasted much better than its competitors. Perhaps i have just so gotten used to their taste and thats why think they are the best. Anyway, their standard has been quite consistent. The amount of coffee powder, sugar and milk has always been a spot on. And, i am so addicted to their iced coffee and kept coming back for more.

I must say that Ya Kun has managed to maintain good standards at their various outlets. For this outlet at Toa Payoh, it was located just besides and outside HDB Hub. This time, I ordered their toast set again as it includes a cup of tea or coffee, toast and half boiled eggs. The eggs were well done as it was really half cooked. Thumbs up. The toast was crispy and had a very good aroma. The coffee was thick and smooth, not too sweet. Real nice.
