We went to order a take-away of Rice Kueh here at Yong's Teochew Kueh along East Coast Road. The auntie was a bit straightforward in her service. She sell you buy. That's it. Love the Peng Kueh with sweet sauce. The rice is very fragrant and sticky. For me I like to throw it into the frying pan one more time when I get home to get that almost crispy on the outside for the charred parts.Be careful of summon officers - there are only limited lots here. continue reading

The Peng kueh is not as good as the Soon kueh. I think the skin of the Peng kueh is a little too thick. However, it is very chewable. The rice inside is tasty however, I don’t like the small little green vegetables inside. They ruin the taste of the Peng kueh. However, I love the dried mushrooms inside. They should put more mushrooms inside it. The Peng kueh also contains dried shrimp and peanut. There are two colours of Peng kueh, the white and pink one. I prefer the pink one.I recommend the Peng kueh if the Soon kueh is out. continue reading

This shop is famous for their steam Teochew Kuehs. They sell Soon Kueh, Koo Chye Kueh, Peng Kueh & Cabbage Kueh. I bought the Cabbage Kueh which I have not seen it selling in other places. The Cabbage Kueh is round in shape and the thickness of the skin is just right and chewy. The yummy filling has a nice crunchy texture of shredded cabbage and it goes very well with dry prawns and pieces of mushroom. You can have it with their chilli sauce or sweet black sauce. It cost only 90cents each. continue reading

Yong's Teochew kuehs are no stranger to most of us. They are popular in making different types of teochew kuehs and are loved by the youngs and olds. Especially love their soon kuehs, generous ingredients in it and the soon kueh's skin is so smooth and yummy. Not forgetting their special made chilli sauce that really goes well with the kuehs as well. Two thumbs up! My verdict: 7/10 continue reading
