Yoshinoya well known for their signature beef bowl or Gyudon in Japanese. The secret recipe broth seasoned with savoury herbs and spices together with large sweet onions served on a bowl of fluffy Japanese short grain rice. These thinly Slices of well marinated beef served in their authentic Japanese rice bowls. With over 1200 outlets worldwide and being one of the oldest and largest chain of beef bowl restaurant currently established a new outlet at Bedok Mall. Most of the eateries are due to be opened by this weekend, I opted to for the beef bowl with miso soup and a drink for S$8.70.The miso soup was bland with a few pieces of seaweed.Instead of having more vegetables for the beef bowl, I chosed to have more beef slices. Surprisingly the rice was very soft and not fluffy. I could hardly see the sliced onions added to these beef slices. If I did not ask for more marinade I don’t think I can finish this meal. A semi cooked egg was added to the beef bowl. To make my dish more palatable I broke the yolk and spread it all over the rice for added flavour.I had some uninvited guest at my table, there were four houseflies flying around and persistently refused to go away.I doubt its “Happiness In A Bowl”.IMG:2] continue reading

Yoshinoya is actually a Japanese fast food restaurant. A healthier choice as compared to other fast food restaurants such as McDonald, KFC etc. Came here for dinner last evening and i ordered student meal (beef set) and it only cost $6.90.The beef set consists of beef slices with rice, choice of drinks and fries. The beef is very tasty, well flavored. However the portion of the beef is too little. I left half a bowl of rice after finishing the beef slices. The portion of the fries is very little too. continue reading

So I patronised bedok point's yoshinoya with my friends after my camp, tired and hungry to get their teriyaki chicken bowl. Imagine how I felt when the I tasted the worst chicken bowl i had. The chicken was just so dry and they are quite stingy with their sauce which is the only passable thing in the whole set. It is my first (and last) visit They had really given me a bad first impression-hopefully this is not their usual standard . good thing that i was super tired and hungry or i would not have touched the bowl. continue reading

The beef bowl at Yoshinoya tastes really good and I decided to have it for dinner. I went to the Yoshinoya at Bedok Point to order the beef bowl take away which costs around $6. The standard of the food tasted the same despite taking away. I like the thinly sliced beef and the gravy on the rice. It never fails to disappoint me each time I eat the same. The service staff is friendly too. continue reading

Yoshinoya is a place where you can eat stuff that are not light nor heavy. Here i ate every week when i am not that hungry or full. The last time i ordered here i am with my daughter who is wearing school uniform but forgot to bring her I.D., so i ask the cashier if i can still order the student meal, but even though they saw my daughter's wearing in uniform they refuse my request, because its a policy said the cashier, i am quite disappointed because its just a little request but still i ordered our 2 favorite dish here the drinks here for me is quite expensive compare to others. But the food is really grate and they prepare and serve it as soon as possible you order for it. continue reading
