It was after a long day of walking around and my legs were breaking plus i was hungry! I really want to sit down to rest and eat something. Yoshinoya was right in front of me so i thought why not since i haven't had Yoshinoya for quite long. I know they have ramen in their menu now so went for that immediately since i love noodles. I opt for beef ramen set meal! I was their around 9+pm so there was hardly anyone around. The guy at the counter was very friendly. Was given a small bowl of corn and my small coke first while they prepare my ramen. Maybe i was tired and hungry, the bowl of beef noodles tasted pretty good! It was quite shiok to enjoy a bowl of hot noodles! The broth was kind of salty sweet kind, not bad. Ramen was ok too! Simple and basic! I don't mind having this again if i want a quick meal =) continue reading

Playing around with the various topping, Yoshinoya provided fast and convenient meal. It has a lot of branches all over Singapore island, casual and budget way to have Japanese food. It was definitely a heavenly treat for Bento lover.I had my Teriyaki Chicken & Ebi Fry Combo, three succulent shrimps coated with crispy bread specks and few slices of boneless chicken. Along by special broth, it was seasoned finely with unique blend of savoury herbs and spices. Whereas the Salmon bowl was heart-healthy delicious, tender and solid flesh inside. I like the fluffy rice, entire was perfection. continue reading

If you are looking for Japanese food served at wallet-friendly prices, head on over to Yoshinoya that operates like a fast food outlet. Make your order at the counter and then collect your food.Yoshinoya always have set meals and ala-carte items on their menu.I am not a big fan of beef so I went for the teriyaki chicken rice set while my friends had the spicy beef rice and mushroom sets. I love the potato smiley faces that came with my set. They were so cute that it makes me happy to dig in. The serving seems alright for a girl but a guy would probably order more. If you like all things spicy, you can choose to sprinkle chili powder on your meat, giving the extra oomph and flavour to the meat. The miso soups that came with the rice bowl sets were tasty.Staffs are quick and efficient when placing orders and getting our food. The only downside is that the place probably looks a little bit squeeze-y with tables in close proximity to other tables. (I could hear the conversations of a couple seated next to it)Still for the price one pays I think it’s a relatively fair deal. continue reading

I feel that out of all the places which offer rice bowls, Yoshinoya still offers one of the most value-for-money. Its portions are also quite generous, just look at the picture I took of my salmon bowl and you will understand why. Its outlets are also often located at prime spots. Just take its Somerset outlet, it's located right at the foot of the staircase and next (but not so near) to the restrooms! Good for a quick but satisfying meal! continue reading

Headed to yoshinoya at 313 for dinner!! Personally I really like yoshinoya alot! Their fries are oven-baked (if I’m not wrong) and have greens in their mains! I ordered the student meal ($5.95 for one main that's beef, one drink and one plate of fries) and the bf got the $9.90 set because there's more things like main (he got the chicken karage one), drink, fries, dessert, miso soup! Because we had the Ntuc card, we got extra mushrooms as toppings! The mushrooms were very nice as well. Sjora is having promotion now, and its a free upgrade to sjora from the usual soft drinks only available every friday! It’s so good and refreshing! The beef set that I had was very nice, just that it might be better if there's more sauce as it's a little dry. As for the chicken karrage, it's very good as well, the degree of frying was just nice, the texture of the chicken was soft on the inside! continue reading
