I had their bee hoon fried fish soup for $4. The fried fish was quite thick and the meat was tender too. It tasted something different from the usual fried fish that other stalls offer and I would say this is one of the best! The bee hoon soup was plain tasting and the texture was smooth. What makes this stall special is the way they do their fried fish so be sure to try that continue reading

You Yi stall at havelock road food centre. They are popular for their fried fish soup. I had their fried fish ban mian ($4). Usually, I don't like fried fish soup, as I find them either soggy, too much flour or too hard. But you yi fried fish somehow differ from others. Their fried fish meat is very thick and tender. Is like eating western fish and chip. The ban mian has egg, tofu, tomato in it. Not bad! The fried fish meat Very thick, tender and match well with their sweet chilli. Can choose rice, meesua, beehoon and ban mian. They also got tom yam soup too. Yummy! continue reading

Ordered tom yum fried fish noodles at $4.50 takeaway. There is an additional 50cents for tom yum and another additional 50cents for takeaway. There were 4 large pieces of fried fish which were very filling. It was slightly soggy but still yummy. Unlike usual fried fish, where there was not much flesh, the fried fish here was quite thick for some even though for one, the batter was thicker than the flesh. For most pieces, the standard was there. The tom yum soup on the other hand was very spicy and tasted like it was m.s.g laden. continue reading

I love the Tom yam fried fish noodle as it is spicy but just great for me, and the fried fish is crispy and soft tender, a good mix before the new year. The stall holder are friendly and great service as there alway remember your preference and fast in service. Overall price is worth for the market. It is at the corner thus, the environment is cooling. continue reading

Havelock Food centre is extremely well-known among taxi drivers for its' affordable and great-tasting foods. I decided to try You Yi's Fish soup, which is usually seen on almost every table. There was no queue at the stall and they served my meal quite quickly. This authentic recipe of You Yi's version of fish soup is tastefully done, concentrating the taste of the fish essence and there are an ample enough of vegetables in the soup. The fried fish was still piping hot even though they just left it at the display counter, and it was so crispy and delicious it makes me wonder why would anyone still eat french fries?! (Yeah, it taste much better than fries). It wasn't too oily as I expect them to be. Anyway, I thought the portion was quite huge (even though I bought the small one), so if you're an average eater like me, just take the small bowl will do! continue reading
