went with 2 close friends to watch stephen chow’s mermaid at GV Bishan yesterday on 3.3.2016.
after the show we walked over to kim san leng food centre.
it’s a coffeeshop, and a huge success story. the guy pulled in the good hawker stalls, so it’s crowded, good traffic even though its along the food & away from junction 8. :-)
i like this place & the food, though they are not cheap.
yu kee’s braised duck was good too. i don’t eat this often these days but this was good – flavourful, smooth, not tough.
S$10 for quarter duck with drumstick i guess not that ex too.
the S$3 kueh chap very tiny plate, but also quite tasty. what can you buy with S$3 these days?
overall the lunch would come to about S$38 for 3, that should be consider ex. maybe we just ate too much…lol! ^^
i like yu kee;s duck best, chicken & ngoh hiang a toss up.

The service here is very quick as there is not much of a queue i got my orders within 5 minutes.I ordered the special duck rice set and gotten extra chilli as i like their chilli alot.I have never tried chilli like this elsewhere. It is like sambal chilli which is slightly crispy with sweet tinges. The rice is nicely cooked but not too soft,i loved the braised duck meat which is cooked til tender here.

If the queue for Chicken Rice at Kim San Leng Food Centre is ultra-long, frets not, you can try Yu Kee Duck Rice Kway Chap! In my opinion Yu Kee's duck rice is one of the better duck rice stalls in Singapore. I usually order the ‘Happy Duck Rice Set’ at $3.50 which comes with braised tofu, braised peanuts, half of a braised egg, lean duck meat and rice. The duck meat is soft and it absorbs the entire braised flavor. They also provide complementary herbal soup which is very tasty!

went to dine with my parents at kim san leng. the queue was not very long, thus waiting time is still okay. like their duck rice very much plus it will comes with soup. the meat and egg are very well done, meat is also boneless. doesnt like those with lots of bones with less meat. their price is also not very expensive. the kuay chap is also nice, kuay is smooth. overall, will revisit again.

Many of my friends have told me before, that the duck rice here was good. However, as someone who loves chicken more than duck since duck meat is so much more tough, i refused to try the duck rice. Until recently my mom bought this particular Duck rice home for me for lunch. I was surprised to find out that the duck meat was actually quite tender and the sauce really made the dish special. What I like most about the dish is its chilli paste.haha. Although some people can't consume spicy food, i

I am not a fan of duck actually, curious about why my colleague was so attracted by this duck rice and kway chap stall, end up I was also in the queue.A far distance from the stall yet the fragrance of herbal was so strong. I started to understand why the business here was so good. Our mood was not affected by the stuffy environment while we enjoyed and looked forward for the soup and duck rice. Well, it was a surprise, never thought the hawker centre food can be so amazing. I ordered dried Kway Teow and noodle, it was a fantastic mixture. Tasty duck, not too oily or salty with a savory soup. Only costed me $3.50 per bowl.

I like duck.Sometimes. And here at Bishan St 13, if i don't want to queue for the bugis street chicken rice, my second choice would be duck rice. And i've got myself the happy set. That's actually the works. Boneless duck meat, half a braised egg, tau kwa and lots of gravy. And oh, don't forget that amazingly addictive chilli. I always ask for more. Or well, just pack it on my own! If you're dining there, look forward to a bowl of herbal soup. Mildly tasting of herbs. But i liked it.
