Signature Dishes
Zenden restaurant was having a 1-for-1 buffet promotion for major credit/debit cards and my mom and I decided to dine there. Unlike the usual hotel restaurant settings, this restaurant has colourful chairs in a white setting, very unique and zen feel. The lightings are bright and we happened to sit near the windows and enjoyed the view outside while eating. The overall service is good, there was a staff helping an old lady to scoop the hardened ice cream and also another staff offered to take tissues for me when I was about to take it myself. The food selections there are quite limited and not a lot of varieties offered, but their food quality are good. There are the cooked food section with mostly tasty dishes, seafood section with fresh seafoods, sushi section, salad bar section, soup section with two different soups offered, bread section with only one type of bread (soft and fluffy) and butter, ice cream section with toppings and syrups, beverage section with coffee and tea, and lastly, the most memorable part of the buffet, the dessert section with tasty mini cakes, tasty durian pengat and tasty chocolale fondue (served in a pot instead of fountain), in short, all the food items served on the dessert section are tasty. Both the durian pengat and chocolate fondue are not the sweet kind and tasted really pure. Overall, this is one of the best buffet for my mom and I, and my mom keep wanting to go back for their buffet. They focused on quality and not much on quantity, but the quality part is enough to tie our heart and stomach.

Buffet once again, my reviews seem to be alot on buffets. Anyway this restaurant is quite quiet maybe because it is not located at a crowded area. Buffet spread quite limited, not as much compared to other buffet I went. There are other nicer choices of buffet restaurants. The good thing is a relaxing and cosy since is more quiet and less crowds. Ate the lunch buffet there, tried food that I like.

For a buffet, the food spread was quite limited. There were not many selections but it was made up by its quality. I began with the clam chowder soup and bread. The richness of the clam chowder for an instant reminded me of San Francisco where I had my best clam chowder. Thumbs up to the restaurant for keeping the breads warm in a heater/oven type machine. Usually the breads were just left laying cold on the buffet spread. For the starter, I like both the Japanese cold tofu and tomato stuffed with mushroom. The cold tofu was a simple and excellent dish. The toppings which had seaweed, katsuobushi, eel and sesame was simply a very refine dish.Next up were the hot food. All of them were good and I enjoyed every dish. Of all, I like the steamed fish and roasted beef the most. I even helped myself to second serving. The highlight was the desserts and pastries. I am usually not into pastries but I found myself sampling and finishing all of them. I would strongly recommend the chocolate banana cake. Hands down to the restaurant for serving Movenpick ice cream. The brand itself already melts my heart. Overall, Zenden restaurant's buffet lunch might not have the variety but quality and service are there. A nice environment to spend an afternoon.

For dinner, we went to Zenden Lounge and Restaurant at Gallery Hotel. There is a wide variety spread of food at the buffet counter. Of all, my favorite is the seafood and salad counter as they are very fresh. I took the scallops which tasted really fresh and juicy topped with lemon juice. The green salads and mussels were very fresh too and I feel the price of $40 per person is worth the money.

Zenden Lounge and Restaurant! Love their chocolate fondue and it was good! The chocolate was so thick and rich and not too sweet. In fact, it is slightly bitter, taste very good with the apples, strawberries, marshmellows etc. you could even try eating just the chocolate itself. The place has a very cosy and relaxing ambience. Very good to let your hair down and enjoy a night out with your friends!
