We visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was about half full. The menu was impressively long with everything from faux sashimi to bento boxes to "meat" skewers to soups... and we ordered the veg tempura and a few different sushi rolls.

The veg tempura came first and was average, and then the platter of sushi arrived. It looked BEAUTIFUL! Whoever creates their sushi is an artist. The fake salmon even had little fat lines running through it.

However, eating it was a disappointment. The faux fish is made from some kind of gelatin and is completely flavorless. I guess you don't want it to actually taste like fish, but maybe it would be better if it was kind of sour like the Japanese pickle? The only roll I actually liked was the one with a generous slice of avocado.

While it was definitely a unique concept, I doubt we'll be back -- we have more satisfying sushi meals just going to Sushi Tei and ordering from the limited veg. selection.
