For me, Boathouse Restaurant is a great place to eat when you are a tourist in Singapore. For me, Boathouse Restaurant is a great place to eat when you are a tourist in Singapore. The location is just ideal when you want to take in the beauty of the country before the modern buildings and sky scrapers that dominate the city.

The restaurant is located at the Waterboat house, just behind the Fullerton Hotel, which used to be Singapore's post office. From a distance, you can catch a glimpse of the merlion as well as the Singapore river, which once served as a port.

Now, going back to the food. Boathouse may seem like a a fancy-pansy dining place but I was surprised that food there was affordable. Lunch sets go for as low as $32++. I didn't order the set lunch though, just a few dishes that my friend and I shared. For appetizer, we had the Spanish Mackerel. I love the freshness of the fish and I think it was genius that it was topped with just the freshest veggies I tasted.

Main course was the Full-Blood Wagyu. I noticed how the chef used the same herbs as the appetizer, but nonetheless, it was still tasty. Meat was soft and chewy, and it was complemented very well with the passionfruit.

Our dessert was the Australian Black Figs. The figs was a bit rough but soft, if you get what I mean. I liked the thin wafer with confectioner's sugar that the chef added. Yummy! Will definitely come back here should I have friends visiting me in Singapore.
