Ever since I was introduced to BlackBall at Star Vista, BlackBall has been constantly on my mind. I was thrilled when BlackBall subsequently opened a stall at Harbourfront. Imagine bigger seating area, air-conditioned and less crowded than the Star Vista outlet. Try the Blackball Signature. It comes in Icy, Cold, Warm or Hot. It's the most expensive item on the menu at $5.40 but it comes with nearly all the toppings available. Essentially what you get is ultra smooth grass jelly, Yam Q, Golden S
My personal favourite is Blackball Signature in Icy. It is perfect for Singapore's weather- refreshing, cooling and full of contrasting flavours and textures. Soft jelly, chewy sweet potato and yam balls, and nicely cooked yam. It's so good that you have got to try it! On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend Blackball Signature-Hot because it felt like the grass jelly was melting into grass jelly soup which was a bit weird.
Blackball also has other offerings that are very popular including the "Jiu Fen" Taro Ball Crushed Ice and Honey Yam Crushed Ice. They also offer various types of bubble tea and my personal favourite- Grass Jelly with Fresh Milk ($4.50)! There are plenty of various offerings to tickle everyone's fancy. Also, Blackball has its own rewards system with Perx where you can get "loyalty" stamps via the QR code on your receipt. Enjoy!
