It's my first visit and I loved how it looked. Maybe it's these mosaic tiles that stole my heart. It brought me back to the past... days of when I was still a little girl and I used to count the tiny squares that made up the floor tiles. Those marble top tables and highbacked wooden chairs. We still have those at home but in our front yard, no longer indoors. Those days when my great grandma's house was still around, not demolished by some MRT lines... It was late afternoon by the time we got here and there weren't any more kaya toast left for orders. They only had kaya buns which we made orders for.
And apparently these custard tarts were a crowd pleaser too. So we cleared the shelves. All last ten of them I kid you not. What's the verdict on them? I liked the buttery tart shell. And that sweet custard that complimented the salty buttered shells which held them. 90 cents a pop and every bit of yum
The kaya buns were nice. And that sinful piece of butter slab was just a dripping mess. Meltingly good but watch for drips on wallets and dresses though. You've been warned.
Next time i'll be back for a sit-me-down coffee poured onto saucers and drunk the way they should be!
