The husband ordered his usual Set 1 ($4.50 nett) comprising of 2 slices of Kaya Butter Toasts, 2 soft-boiled eggs and a cup of teh. As for me, I decided to order their festive set ($3.00 nett) comprising of 2 slices of Peanut Butter Toasts and a cup of teh-O.

Compared to Toast Box, Wang’s kaya butter toast wins hands down – both in terms of quantity (1 vs 2 slices of toasts) and quality (smoothness and fragrances of kaya). The traditional Hainanese toasts, sandwiching Wang’s signature kaya and thin butter slices, was toasted to perfection, good ol' kopitiam style .

However, the Peanut Butter Toasts I had were pretty average and lacked the crunchy satisfying kick of Toast Box’s classic peanut butter, enough said.

Guess it’s pretty clear where you should head to for your next weekend breakfast indulgence depending on whether you craving for kaya or peanut butter toast
