The Square @ Furama introduces a slew of international culinary gems that bring out the best flavours of the East and the West in the buffet and a la carte spread. For vegetarian and halal options you can request for the a la carte spread. The square is a very big restaurant that can accommodate large groups. It is always full house during the 1 for 1 credit card promotion so do make your reservation at least 1-2 weeks in advance! As you walk in from the entrance, you are greeted by the desserts.

As you walk in from the entrance, you are greeted by the desserts. Gotta love how they organized the buffet. Walking in and smelling the sweet caramelized desserts, seeing the cheesecakes and ice cream freezer was definitely welcoming.

An interesting item that I spotted from the buffet spread was this fried prawn with chicken floss. The Prawns were huge and it tasted rather sweet with the chicken floss. The ngoh hiang on the right wasn't crispy but was filled generously with alot of ingredients.

There was also a roasted pork counter where by the chef which slice up cubes of roasted pork. The skin was so crispy it was unbelievably addictive. I went back for seconds. Actually, I have to check if this in on their regular lunch menu because I'm so ready for more of this roasted pork goodness. The meat was so juicy, salty and melted in your mouth!

The fresh sashimi was fresh and it was fresh enough that it melted in your mouth and you didn't have to chew it.

There was also seasoned salmon for your salad greens as well as bak kwa coins. The bak kwa coins were sliced very thick!

Here's my share of the food. I loved the cheese and crackers. The cheese had the right aroma and texture. The char siew was also pretty good and it was picked out from the wanton mee section, but I skipped the noodles and went straight for the meat instead.

The other meats were okay to decent, but the only meat that left a lasting impression was the roasted pork! So definitely give that a try!

The bur bur hitam was my favourite, and the coconut milk though a little bit diluted was still enough to satisfy my cravings.

All in all, a decent Chinese New Year buffet menu and with all the credit card promotions going on. This is probably one of the most value for money hotel buffets around.
