It's my second visit to Poulet. I went there with a friend who visited Singapore over the weekend for lunch and recommended him this place. It's my second visit to Poulet. I went there with a friend who visited Singapore over the weekend for lunch and recommended him this place. He was quite pleased with the overall food quality served on that day. My friend wanted to try their Onion Soup @S$5.80. The soup broth was served rich beef stock with caramelized french onions. Soup topped with toasted cheese croutons give a mixture touch of sweetness and saltiness. We ordered Escargot de Bourgogne @S$8.80. Escargots baked with tomato fondue infused with garlic butter. It was pipping hot when it is served and the taste is still consistent compared to my last visit. As for our main course, he had Iberico Pork Belly @S$15.80. Braised spanish Iberico pork belly served with mashed potato, leek confit and double mustard. Serving portion was just perfect for one person serving. The pork belly texture was soft and tender to chew. The melting braised pork meat compliments well with the mustard and mashed potato. The star of the restaurant has to be its Poulet Roti ($15.80 for half, $28.80 for whole), or chicken. I ordered the half chicken with home made white and creamy mushroom Chardonnay Sauce. Truly best recommended main course. The slow roast chicken makes the meat texture taste moist and tender. The chicken skin is quite crispy and savoring the taste of it with the sauce makes the dish tasted awesome! We ended our lunch with Tiramisu @S$7.80 that still convince me with its' consistency in terms of the quality. Served chilled with rich creamy mascarpone cheese and bitter coffee-soaked sponge satisfied our cravings on dessert.
However, I am quite disappointed that we are charged for plain water. We told the staff that we will have ice-water will do but we were told that we need to order Dasani Mineral Water @S$1.80. We left no choice to order a bottle to share.
Total bill was S$65.70 inclusive of 10% service charge and 7% GST.
