Another new establishment that sprung up at the Bugis-Kampong glam area is Symmetry. Nestled right at the end of Jalan Kubor, this place serves some Australian-style brunches and is essentially a cafe in the day and a bar at night.

I have heard some positive reviews about this new brunch place and some have even said that the standard is on par with Wild Honey. I would say that the prices are definitely comparable to Wild Honey, with mains starting from $20 onwards, but the food served are pretty different from what Wild Honey offers.

The mocha was as good as the one I had at Artistry, full-bodied with an intense chocolate-y taste.

For the starters, we had the Prawn Popcorn and the Wild Mushroom Duxelle Beignet. I liked that both were crisp and light, and the ingredients were fresh, but I personally prefer the former as I'm not a fan of mushrooms. But my brunch companions loveeeee the latter and said it was excellent.

The Eggs Benedict here differs slightly from the norm. It consists of some caramelized onions and the hollandaise sauce wasn't thick enough. The poached eggs tasted more like soft-boiled eggs as the egg white was too runny. I felt that I can do a better job for the poached eggs. There's nothing to complain about the hash potato but overall, this dish is not worth the $20.

My dining companion ordered the Arrabiata and she said it was good. I didn't try it but I got to trust her on that.

On the whole, I love this hole-in-the-wall place but it's a bit too cramped for comfort. Food is good but prices are slightly on the high side. It's worth a try but probably not a place I'll frequent.
