Finally a trip to Concetto at one of the days. Concetto is another subsidiary by Saveur’s company. Similar style to Saveur, but the focus has changed from french cuisine to italian cuisine. Different style of technique and cooking has been incorporated into their dishes rather creatively i would say. Prices still remains decent too.First up is the drink-Shirley Temple ($3 only), that a few of us couldnt resist not to order, because it’s really much cheaper than outside, but probably it is more s
First up is the drink-Shirley Temple ($3 only), that a few of us couldnt resist not to order, because it’s really much cheaper than outside, but probably it is more soda-like than usual. It’s my first time drinking too, so cant really comment on the difference. Here’s a few mains that we ordered. Crab Risotto ($12.90), Duck Tortellini ($12.90), Creamy Pork ($9.90) and Beef Oyster Blade ($15.90). So among all these dishes, personally i ordered the crab risotto. It’s creamy, flavourful, tasty but a lil to the salty side though. Chunks of crab meat and crispy rice crackers gave the dish another taste and mouthfeel. Another dish that i tried was Duck Tortellini. It’s basically duck wrapped in the tortellini with poached egg and parmesan emulsion. The duck fillings were not too stingy, i can really see and taste the duck pieces. How do i describe it more aptly, hmm, meaty? haha! yes, probably that will be the word. But i thought that the skin of the tortellini might be a lil too dry to my liking. It’s really not easy to cook tortellini well in my opinion. I’ll recommend Concetto if you want to try something different at affordable prices!
