Another time at Dian Xiao Er! This restaurant seems to be one of my family's favourite hangout especially since we just live across the road from the mall. Well, who can deny that Dian Xiao Er serves delicious food all the time? We were a party of 2 and we went during dinnertime. This is the Roasted Duck with Ten Wonder Herbs ($25.30 for the medium portion). Dian Xiao Er is famed for its signature duck and one does not simply visit Dian Xiao Er without ordering the duck. As always, the duck meat was tender and succulent and the skin was flavourful. The gravy with a tinge of sweetness made it a perfect complement for the white rice. Delicious!!
This is the Chinese Spinach in Superior Stock ($18.30 for the medium portion). It is topped with wolfberries, dried scallops and silverfish. Unfortunately, we settled for the spinach as the restaurant was out of dou miao and kang kong. However it wasn't a wrong choice! The spinach was cooked till it was really soft and the soup was nice and warm on a cold rainy night. These 2 dishes in medium sizes were more than enough for 2. We could have ordered more dishes if we'd opted for the small portions but who can resist the duck! The restaurant was crowded at dinnertime but food was served promptly. Always a great visit and will definitely come again.
