Wanderlust opened it's doors downtown, and I was blown away by it's design, being a sister hotel to New Majestic Hotel, and all the rave reviews of it as our all new boutique hotel. We had to head down to check it out.

Located on the ground floor of the hotel, you walk into a quaint little corner pass the entrance. The interior eclectic. I've always had a penchant for quaint old rustic designs, euro inspired, and they successfully achieved the look for it.

The first table at the entrance of the restaurant, was more like a signature art piece. The artistic chandelier looming above the table put together with mismatched coloured chairs. Cement screed walls giving it a raw yet interesting feel, as the lights bounced off it's textures. Walk on, and you spot little details in old nostalgic pots and pans, displays, and bottles. Vintage yet designer pieces, beckoning for your attention, from it's corners. I had especially loved the corner right next to their bar.

The service was however lacking. They slotted us at a table near the toilet, which we requested to change. Not to mention that we had tried several times to garner a confirmed reservation as they were often full house, and had to reject our advanced booking. After moving us, a staff with hardly audible english served us. Maybe we were hungry and tired, so we got slightly irritated. The dishes were also not up to our expectations. I guess after several bookings, the expectations also grew with anticipation. We were sadly to say, disappointed.

Their dishes were not balanced in taste. One could tell the chef was new. The menu wasn't tried and tested They were beautifully presented no doubt. However, would love to see the taste factor improve. Meanwhile, we wouldn't be back for quite some time.
