The Callebaut Warm Chocolate Molten Cake with maple walnut gelato. $14.The thin candle was placed at the side of the plate so it didn't protrude and drip wax onto the warm chocolate fondant. The outward layer was slightly crisp on the edges and when cut open, revealed a lovely viscous molten chocolate interior. The maple walnut gelato had lovely bits of walnut and had an overwhelmingly pungent smell and taste of maple syrup. I'd rather a simple french vanilla but the birthday girl seemed to like this very much!
Thumbs up for their impressive service (Czar enquired which one of us the birthday girl was and when the dessert was ready, she took care to stay out of sight and lit the candle quietly for that brilliant surprise!) and for making the birthday celebration that bit more special!
