Not sure what drove me to try this, because I normally avoid fried chicken at all costs for the high calorie intake. This is the Signature Ayam Penyet ($7.90), which includes a bowl of rice (not captured in the picture). The chicken has a really very crispy skin and tender chicken meat underneath it, but the portion is a bit too small. It looks huge but quite a bit was bone. It was my maiden Ayam Penyet attempt ... Objectively the taste is good, portion is too small for me (it is definitely fill
You are warned - The chilli on the side is super spicy! I was again, curious, so I just tried a very small bit of it (less than a 5 cent coin size) and it just torched my tongue immediately when a continuous burning aftertaste from the tip of my tongue to the base of my throat. Not an exaggeration at all. I stayed away from that molehill of chilli for the rest of my meal. Curiosity burnt the cat T_T
Service-wise... it was not memorable but in a way, that's good I guess. Minimal waiting time.
