I have been wanting to try this fried hokkien prawn mee for quite a while but i haven't been in luck so far. The past few times when i was here, they happened to be closed. And so, today must be my lucky day as i finally caught them to be opened for business. I was there at about 1pm and there were only a few customers right in front of me. I was there at about 1pm and there were only a few customers right in front of me. I waited for less than 5 minutes to place my order and gotten it within minutes as well. I ordered the $3.00 portion, the smallest portion of all.
Their chilli is easily one of the better ones out there. The taste of the dried prawns and ikan belis can be clearly tasted. I suppose this must be part of the secret recipe handed down from the 1st generation as this stall has been around for at least 40 years.
The noodle was well braised in the flavorful prawn stock to give it a nice softness. So, if you like your noodle to be al dente then this might not be your kind of fried hokkien prawn mee.
All in all, it was a satisfactory experience.
