Palio has quite a reasonable lunch set so we decided to go to Palio when we were at Resorts World Sentosa. They have a 2 course set consisting of an appetizer and pizza or pasta for $25++, and a 3 course set with an added dessert for $30++. We had the 2 course set as we aren't fans of desserts.Once we were shown to our seats, the manager asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. I thought this meant that they don't serve normal water for free but I saw later on that they actually do!!! I felt
Palio has quite a reasonable lunch set so we decided to go to Palio when we were at Resorts World Sentosa. They have a 2 course set consisting of an appetizer and pizza or pasta for $25++, and a 3 course set with an added dessert for $30++. We had the 2 course set as we aren't fans of desserts.
Once we were shown to our seats, the manager asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. I thought this meant that they don't serve normal water for free but I saw later on that they actually do!!! I felt really cheated after that as the bottle of still water cost $9 for 1 litre. Hence please beware and just ask if they serve normal water at any restaurant that you go to.
After you've placed your order, you will be served toast with chilled salsa. This was simple but so yummy I wish I had more! The toast was crispy but light and soft on the inside, and the chilled salsa had subtle herb flavours and was very refreshing due to its cold temperature.
Appetizer - Prosciutto e Melone
This is a classic Italian appetizer consisting of sliced rock melon paired with parma ham, topped with some salad leaves and fig compote. The sweetness of the rock melon and saltiness of the parma ham went together very well.
Appetizer - Caprese
Another classic Italian appetizer, the Caprese consists of Italian buffalo mozerella cheese and vine ripened tomatoes. The cheese and tomatoes were both juicy and very light and refreshing on the palate. Loving both the appetizers
Linguine with Asparagus in Pesto
Pesto is a kind of sauce made of basil... The ones I've tried before had really strong basil taste hence I expected this to be the same. However for this dish, the basil taste and fragrance was extremely subtle. The pasta/sauce was also tasteless and I felt as though the chef had forgotten to add the salt. The linguine was good though, which was al dente. The asparagus was nice and crunchy and the cherry tomatoes were juicy but I wished the vegetables portion was more.
Pizza with Bak Kwa and Floss
This pizza really reminded me of the Lunar New Year as it consisted of bak kwa, pork floss and chilli bits, but it wasn't too spicy. This was ok just that the toppings made the pizza really un-Italian. It was more like a Singapore flavoured pizza.
Their food is generally good but perhaps the pasta and pizza we had chosen were not their specialties. Wouldn't mind giving them another try next time.
