Just went to this place to try out the cheese baked rice recommended by friends today. I ordered the supreme cheese baked rice with beef and I'll say the food didn't disappoint me, BUT the service was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.The waitress took our orders at 9.47pm.- 2 cheese baked rice- 1 yuan yang (cold)- 1 green tea latteOur drinks were served promptly in about 5 minutes, but we chatted and watched the clock tick until it was 10.20pm and the food wasn't here yet. We understand that it's their peak hour
The waitress took our orders at 9.47pm.
- 2 cheese baked rice
- 1 yuan yang (cold)
- 1 green tea latte
Our drinks were served promptly in about 5 minutes, but we chatted and watched the clock tick until it was 10.20pm and the food wasn't here yet. We understand that it's their peak hour and expected the food to be slow but 33 minutes was unacceptable. So we called the waitress to complain about the long wait for our food and after checking she told us that the kitchen staff said the food will be here in 3 minutes(obviously they've forgotten our order).
The first cheese baked rice came at 10.25pm, then we waited .... and waited and the second cheese baked rice still did not come. At 10.34pm we complained to the waitress a second time and she came back apologizing to us saying that the food will be here in 3 minutes(AGAIN, seriously did the kitchen forget our orders twice in a row?).
We ordered at 9.47pm, and after 2 complains/reminders to the service crew did the second cheese baked rice finally come at 10.39pm.
- waiting time for 1st cheese baked rice was 38 minutes (1st reminder)
- waiting time for 2nd cheese baked rice was 52 minutes (2nd reminder)
The ice in our drinks have already melted when my food came, with a thick layer of water(melted ice) at the top and it was obviously no longer cold by then.
The couple at the table beside us came later than us, but they've already finished their food and left by the time my food came. Maybe ours were specially cooked in HK and air-flown over that's why it took so long.
The cheese baked rice was also quite laughable. It was the first time I've seen cheese baked rice that the rice was served plain on a separate plate from the cheese and stuff. I may not be a gourmet expert but I would expect the cheese baked rice's rice to come baked in a bowl instead? It felt like I went to some zi char stall instead of a hong kong cafe/restaurant. It also made me feel quite cheated.
I would have walked off without paying for the drinks if it wasn't for my friend asking me to stay since we've been waiting here so long already
I think the joke at the end of the day was when I scanned the bill and rested my eyes on the 10% service charge that we had to pay.
Wrote a negative comment card but no ones know whether they will really read it or just chuck it away in the dustbin.
Unless you're prepared for a long waiting time, I suggest not visiting this place where the kitchen staff can forget about your orders back-to-back twice in a row. None of the service crew paid attention to notice our empty table/help us ask why there is no food on the table after >30minutes. And the service staff who helped us chase for our orders the first time also did not do a follow up when the second cheese baked rice didn't come after a long time
