Its rare for me to give full marks but China Whampoa's impeccably executived ban mian is a deserving winner.

Freshing made on the premises by a husband and wife team, the slightly curly noodles boasted its excellent texture evenly. Noodles are smooth, chewy and spongy, and the taste retained my bite all the way. The clear looking soup was intensely flavourly with rock sugar and ikan bilis, makes it refreshing each time i drink the soup.

For a mere $10 bowl of noodles, there was a wide variety of ingredients that went into it. There was abalone in slices, minced pork, choice of prawn or fish, thick slices of stewed mushroom, crispy ikan bilis, mix of wolberry leaves and Chinese ebdives. All the ingredients were remarkably fresh, especially the sweet and crunchy large sized prawns.

It is evident that care and detail went into preparing every bowl of Ban Mian. Even the prawns had been thoughfully shelled in the miid section for the convenience of diners. Only this stall has the extra ingredient -Passion which not only warms the tummy of diners but the heart of all dinners.
