Ont Authentic Thai Cuisine is serving no-frills Thai dishes in the neighborhood. Though it is just a stone's throw from home and walked past a dozen times but never gotten a chance to try it as yet. The opportunity arrived when i acquired a voucher from Groupon. Made a reservation at 12:30pm on a weekday and when gotten there the shop was still empty. We decided to order a Lemon Grass Drink ($2.80), Tom Yum Prawn Soup ($8.00), Green Curry Chicken ($8.00), Thai Fish Cake ($6.00) and Pineapple Ric

Made a reservation at 12:30pm on a weekday and when gotten there the shop was still empty. We decided to order a Lemon Grass Drink ($2.80), Tom Yum Prawn Soup ($8.00), Green Curry Chicken ($8.00), Thai Fish Cake ($6.00) and Pineapple Rice ($5.00).
The Lemon Grass Drink was served first. First sip and i liked it, it was light and refreshing with a tinge of lemon grass.
Second up was the Tom Yum Prawn Soup. The clear version of Tom Yum Soup managed to strike a balance in between spiciness and sourness with a pretty distinct taste of lime leave and lemon grass. It came with quite a few pieces of prawns and button mushroom. We enjoyed this pretty much.
This followed by the Pineapple Rice. We were informed earlier that the serving is only for 1 pax but we felt it should be good enough to be share amongst 2 pax if ordered other dishes too. Ingredients like little pieces of pineapple and chinese sausage together with 2 pieces of prawns were found in it with a little pork floss scattered on top. We enjoyed it too.
The Green Curry Chicken served next. It was a typical Thai curry dishes with green brinja, red / green chillies, basil leaves and chicken pieces. It tasted pretty alright and went well with the rice.
The only disappointing dish has to be the Thai Fish Cake. It did not have a distinctive taste and can be quite boring to eat it on its own. It tasted better by dipped it in the dip that served along with it.
If you have a craving for Thai dishes and not wanting to travel to town then this can be quite a good option.
