Venue: Great location. Super convenient. But we were seated very far form the buffet. It's like a maze and you have to walk round and round to get to the buffet and then round and round to get to your table again. The decor of the hotel was pretty nice though. And the shops around the hotel made us forget how bad the buffet was.Service: Poor. Took 20 minutes to get any water. Was asked if we had a reservation eventhough we were told when we rang that we didn't need a reservation for less than 5
Service: Poor. Took 20 minutes to get any water. Was asked if we had a reservation eventhough we were told when we rang that we didn't need a reservation for less than 5 people. No one talks to you much. They had a Russian girl who tried to push drinks unsuccessfully.
Value: Terrible! We were told it would be $45+ each. Turned out to be $65++ each! There wasn't that much food at all. It's actually the worst buffet-at-a-hotel that we've been to.
Food: Very basic offerings. Seafood station had no oysters or scallops. Only half cooked mussels which tasted awful. There's smoked salmon and smoked snow cod (which is totally weird for such a delicate fish). There's raw sashimi but only the salmon sashimi was passable. The tuna wasn't that fresh. There's baked escargots in pastry. The pastry was ridiculous and broke when you picked it up. The dim sum was terrible. The chawanmushi was passable. There's a carvery, some ala minute stuff, some stir fries, tempura, large bowl of fruits, ice creams (you have to be served the ice cream - cannot self serve), cheeses (very bad camembert - overripe and going off), not much breads, no butters.
The dessert bar is alright with nonya kuehs and cakes and pastries. Nothing memorable at all.
Seriously, for this price, we'd rather go to 10@ Claymore, Olive Tree, CafeBiz or even Zenden!
There isn't even a coffee bar. If you want tea or coffee you have to ask someone. And it's coffee that been stewing there, waiting, not freshly brewed. The lack of a drinks station to get your own tea, coffee, juice or water is just beneath such a renowned hotel!
Not recommended! We went there on a weekend. The variety is sparse, the presentation unappealing, the taste very average and substandard, the quality just passable. The lighting was terrible and dark. The seating arrangement was a joke.
