Okowa rice is a type of short-grain rice, usually steamed and mixed with beans, chestnuts, sakura, salmon, Hijiki seaweed, vegetable and others. Yonehachi uses top-quality rice from northern Japan like Iwate, Fukushima and Akita. All versions of the rice are availble for takeaway and sold by weight.

We each ordered a bento set, around S$13.80. It includes a miso soup, pickles and meat.

Seriously Okowa rice is the major attraction and the rest of food is just average. Now, I wish for Okowa rice with grilled eel or cod fish from Chikuwa Tei. This would be good ;p
