We went to Pepper Lunch for, well, lunch just to try out their DIY fast service concept. I got the Chicken Pepper Rice ($9.50) with the bonus $3 meal (drink plus Choco Nuts Ice Cream) while my makan kaki got the Curry Chicken Pepper Rice with Cheese ($9.90). The food were served pretty fast although we had to wait a while for the meat to "sizzle" and cook. There are sauces on the table that you can stir in with the food and I am not ashamed to say that I kind of drenched my chicken with the honey brown sauce LOL. The meat was tender and tasty and the rice was just the right amount of being peppery. I loved the taste of it although my makan kaki thought that there was too much pepper and even had a small coughing fit from first bite.
I also love the taste of the melted cheese on my makan kaki's rice, just too yummy! I regretted not adding on the cheese to my own rice.

Being a chocolate fan, I opted for the Choco Nut ice-cream even though I've heard positive reviews of the Goma (Black Sesame) and Kuromitsu (Caramel) ice cream. I think the Choco Nuts ice cream in itself is also pretty delightful. It was very smooth, chocolate-y and crunchy (obviously).

Overall, I must say it was a rather fun experience, and might I add that in addition to being tasty, the food are also visually appealing. I highly recommend cooking the meat with the honey brown sauce and topping the cheese to your meal to up the taste factor. I'd definitely love to visit Pepper Lunch again to try the other dishes!
