First of all, Ba Ba King has shifted to 1 Changi Business Park Cresent, #01-22, Plaza 8 @ CBP Singapore 486025. It is no longer located at Singapore Expo, do take note.Heard of Peranakan buffet? Now for $28 not inclusive of GST and service charges, you can enjoy Peranakan buffet dinner. The menu consist of the following dishes:There wasn't any one beside us in the restaurant which was good, we had all the attention to us. The menu consist of the following dishes: There wasn't any one beside us in the restaurant which was good, we had all the attention to us. As Ba Ba King is now relocated to a business building, there wasn't much crowd beyond business hours.
$28 is pretty worth it as the dish portion comes in normal serving size suitable for 4 persons. Thus, per table can only ordered up to 3 times be it repetitive dishes. However, if you are looking for truly authentic Nonya food, this place will disappoint you a little.
We had quite a lot and walked out fully fed.
Nonya Chicken Curry The curry is okay, just that it is not really the authentic Nonya Chicken Curry not thick enough.
Assam Chicken Wing
When I saw it on the menu, I pictured it similar to the Assam Fish and when the dish came it wasn't what I would expect. It just taste kind of weird, I still prefer the Chicken Curry than the Assam Chicken.
Sambal Fish, Chili Onion Prawn, Cincalok Omelette: Nothing really special, just like one of the economics stall dish.
The Nonya Ngo Hiang and YCK Sumbat Sotong are quite decent, finger food that we love. I don't like petai thus I don't really fancy Petai Ikan Billis, I prefer the peanut served.
Milk Pai Chye Taste just like one of those vegetables in oyster sauce, simply and nice.
Chicken Buah Keluak This is our first time trying this dish, taste kind of weird. We were supposed to use the stick given to dig out the minced meat from the shell. I felt the minced meat tasted like sand though - just simply weird.
Beside Nonya dishes, they offer spaghetti. I had the chicken spaghetti, it was just spaghetti cooked in tomato sauce that's all.
At least, the desserts are good.
Pulut Gula Melaka I very much enjoyed this dessert with ample coconut milk.
If you are nearby, you can consider popping by, else it is not really worth the travelling for a meal here.
