The rice cake sold at Poh Cheu at 90 cents each is one of my favourite snack. This "Peng Kueh" is made from glutinous rice filled with dried mushrooms, dried shrimps and steamed peanut.I would normally pan fried these rice cakes until the exterior of the skin are crispy for breakfast.Accompanied with the sweet black sauce and chilli paste.Most of the rice cakes that we purchased from other outlets are factory made and the texture of the skin is thick and stodgy which can easily cause indigesti

How do you distinguish a good "Peng Kueh" from the rest is when the rice cake is deep fried the skin does not break easily.
